Subject: Dark Eldar Raider questions

Hey, I played against a Dark Eldar army yesterday and the player claimed that the Raider was 13 armour all round. I've looked at its values in the codex and it's only 10 all round. I know it has a 5+ invulnerable save but is what my friend said bs? Or does another unit increase it by 3 all round? Thanks a lot.

It's AV 10.
Ask your opponent to show you where it says 13. DE don't have anything that's AV 13.

Actually, they have one, but it's rarely used.
Astrubel Vect's pimp-ride, the Dais of Destruction, is AV 13, and if it was moving it would have had a 5+ jink. It also has three dark lances.
You can't upgrade it though, so no flickerfields/Nightshields/other junk.
Normal raiders are AV 10.

That aside, what's bad about dark lances? They're more powerful than disintegrators are they not?

But far less shots.
The Pimp-ride is a transport. You are forced to take 9 models + vect on board if you take it, and i like to use mine with Incubi.
Three Disintegrators would be nice for fething up the heavy infantry prior to a charge, and they still work well on light vehicles, like transports.
Dark Lances work best for tank-killing, and i don't really want Vect and his bother-boys looking down the barrel of a Vindicator...
DL are ok. I'd just like to have the option, as i'd prefer Dissies

I've never taken the Dias and completely forgot about it.
The problem with lances is the number of shots. A raider has one. Which causes a single wound half the time... So, it's a waste against anything but actual tanks.

The Dias is the only AV13 vehicle in the Dark Eldar Codex, it should have 3 Dark Lances with 9 Models and Vect himself.
I don't recall that it should have a flickerfield which gives it a 5++ save.
But it is a skimmer so it might be a 5+ cover save that he's talking about.

Dark light weapons are a tad common in DE
Personal preference, i guess.

It doesn't get a flickerfield.
You aren't allowed to upgrade it, and raiders don't get them standard. Probably he's talking about the 5+ Jink save.
