Hey guys, my friends an I are building a board for Warlord Games. It will be featured at Adepticon, Gencon, and other venues this year. We decided that we'd do some Pacific Theatre stuff since it seems to be very under-represented in WWII miniature gaming (outside of naval battles that is.) Without further ado:

Here is the first step of hashing out the beach:

The beach has been sanded and smoothed out, a second level added to the island with a bamboo seawall, and some machine gun nests built.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Here, we've added some sand. You can see the lone reinforced bunker along with some trenchworks, and our preliminary thoughts on the positioning of the airstrip.

It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

Here, we've finally decided on just how the airstrip and hangar should be positioned on the board (the Zero model was WAY bigger than we thought it would be, so the hangar was too), and more sand added. Note that this board is split down the middle for easier transport.

Well in the rush to get things done, we forgot to take intermediary photos. Not much to detail in any case. Rest of the board got sand, added the basecoat, wash, and drybrush for texture, and added the first layer of resin for the water.

More work done on both the board and the non-permanent terrain.

Another pic of the board. Still in the very final stages. We'll try to take detail pics but no guarantees; the board has to ship tomorrow to make it to Adepticon.

Here's the final product. We did manage to have time for some 'glamour' shots. Please excuse the giant mess in the background.

Looks nice!

Maybe when I come home we can get our game on sometime. I have missed every demo at one of the stores I patronize, I always show up an hour after the reps were there, or I have drill that day.

Definitely. There are lots of players at Imperial Outpost, and the owner of Crusaders Retreat is really into Bolt Action; there shouldn't be any problems for you to find a demo/game. If there are feel free to send a message to Warlord via their FB page and I'm sure something can be worked out.

EDIT: Warlord Games North America, of course.

Where/what is Crusader's Retreat?

Its been a while since I have been to Imperial Outpost. I started going there after getting back into 40K, and Daren had done a LOT with the place. Really spiced it up. I bought my Bolt Action minis from him.
