Sinister Chaos Marine

Im thinking of branching out of my standard CSM builds and seeing if I can field some good CSM/CD lists.

I've been pouring over the codex, and trying to read up on the new rules, but does anyone have any ideas or tips
on what units work well this edition, or what fails. Im looking at possible augmenting my CSM with Tez. Flamers and Screamers,
but of course I would have to take the crappy horrors.

Im mostly intrested in Tez, or Slan allies. thanks for any help you guys can give.

Slaanesh units are great assault units, and you aren't really bound to the horrors... if you want to buff your marines.

The rolls in divination are imho the only great advantage that tzeentch brings to CSM, maybe the screamers but the flamers got a pretty huge nerf now. That being said I'd go with a Herald of Tzeentch with divination on a chariot, daemonettes as the allied troop, screamers/seekers for fast, and maybe fiends as elite depending on your CSM list.

I have a few lists with daemon allies, mainly khorne thou, and they have worked great, the Herald of Khorne is a beast against most characters and bloodletters are really cheap for the wreck they cause to MEQs. The only non-khorne units I usually ally are fiends of slaanesh which try to charge the same unit that my juggy lord + spawns are charging most of the time it is overkill, but when charging things like the swarmlord or mephiston, or eldar/dark eldars which can hurt the juggy before he gets his attacks is awesome.

What else do you run other daN The herald and bloodletters? Du you DS? I want khorne daemons as allies for my death guard/ nurgle inspired army.

I run Herald with hatred locus, greater and lesser gift, 20 bloodletters with bloodreaper and lesser gift for challenges and DS them behind enemy lines, they are squishy, but it's hard to kill 21 models with 5++ and that won't run back. That is enough to cause some havoc on the backfield and they are also scoring units so your opponent needs to deal with them or lose an objective and any units that are near it.

For my chaozilla list i run the Bloodthirster, 20 letters and a MoN Soulgrinder, only deepstriking the letters for objectives.

I run mostly nurgle, but the biggest advantage I find for daemon allies is that you can deep strike a squad or two of troops. This opens up all kinds of doors for capturing/contesting objectives that you would otherwise be unlikely to reach.

Plague bearers make awesome objective campers.

Greater daemons can give some good punch. They are much better, point for point, than daemon princes. This is most apparent in that they are toughness 6, so are not insta-killed by STR 10.

Horrors aren't crappy. With a proper Herald (ML3, Exalted Locus), the amount of firepower Horrors put out is Assault 7d6 (4d6 from Horrors, 3d6 from Herald after Prescience) shots at S6 AP4. That's not crappy, especially when you cast Prescience on the unit.

Horrors aren't crappy, but do have a lot of issues. Take a squad of 16 of them shooting with a Herald with Prescience for an example. You begin your shooting by casting both psychic powers from the Herald and Horrors. After the powers go off, you see if your opponent can deny the witch. Then you see how many shots you're able to muster. Followed by actually shooting. Then you have to wound. Are you fighting something that gets a save? Well there's more dice weeded out. After all is said and done you still have the possibility of giving your opponent Feel No Pain.

This is of course coming from someone that deals with Grey Knights on a regular basis and often does get past either the psychic test (the Aegis makes me want to pull out my hair) or the deny the witch.
