hi guys,
I've been using loctite ultra gel for metal and resin bits for most of a year, now. while it's served me well so far, I feel like I have to race against the clock when I'm using it. it sets within 2-3 seconds, which can make positioning fiddly bits just right a bit difficult at times. I also end up having to use some sort of secondary applicator (toothpick, etc) oftentimes because the tip of the loctite bottle is too large relative to what I'm trying to put glue on. so, I think it might be time to try out another glue. (it's not you, Loctite. it's me)
I'm looking for something with a working time that's more in the 15 second range and also something that either has a small brush applicator (much like the one that's tamiya's extra-thin cement bottles) or a fine-tipped metal applicator (like the revel glue that's so damn hard to find in the US). I'm in the US, but not opposed to doing mail/online ordering from a reputable source (ebay seems sketchy for perishables). and yes, I've already read http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Glue_and_You
suggestions?

Gorilla Super glue. I have been using it for years, it is cheap and has excellent hold.

Don't you know that you have to use GW superglue if you are building GW products? Sheesh man, you are supposed to support THE HOBBY!

that crap can burn in hell. I used it (as well as that horrible slop GW claims is plastic glue) when I first started the hobby and then learned the error of my ways

Zap-a-gap is pretty good superglue, and has a small enough tip for fiddly bits like heads (maybe not a purity seal though). Comes in both superglue and plastic glue forms.

+1 for Gorilla Super glue. It does NOT have a superfine tip applicator, but that's what toothpicks are for. In general it gives you a good 20-30 seconds of positioning time before it goes into lockdown mode. It's also not as harsh on you fingers as most other superglues I've tried (looking at you crazy glue).

It has an applicator tip and it's by far the best glue for your money. I'll never go back to GW glue. I feel bad for the poor saps that do try to use it.

So you currently use Loctite Ultra Control Gel, but it sets too quickly for you...
Might I suggest sticking to the same neighborhood, just a different product?
Not sure about brush or precision applicator, but it fits your bill for more time.
