Daemons have been a subject of much debate lately. Can they compete consistently? While I have my doubts, I decided to try out a nasty monster mash list versus an IG/ SW list.
The link to my report is here:
http://rhetorical40k.wordpress.com/2013/04/07/battle-report-daemonscsm-vs-igspace-wolves/#more-218
My one caveat, I do use proxies here. It is always better to try it before you buy it, especially with the prices these days.
Hope you enjoy! Comments always welcome!

Very interesting to read. I'm not sure, but can the bearer of the Grimoire use it on himself? I believe he has to use it on others?
When I have tried to invest so many points in MCs and psychics, I have found that weight of fire is too much for me. I was impressed that yours all stayed alive so easily!

Yeah, he bearer of the Grimoire is immune to its effects, both good and bad. Thus, there's no point in using it on itself.
I'm not a big proponent of Fateweaver. His buffs are nifty, but IMO he doesn't bring enough to the table. I've been underwhelmed by him everytime I've used him. I much prefer a LOC instead.

I agree, a LOC is so much more versatile now that he is a beast in HtH.

I really like Fateweaver for his ability to make the Grimoire very consistent and to reroll those terrible warp storm results. He is also a hilarious Grimoire target that can really do a good job of denying an objective. Tactical flexibility, though probably a bit over priced.

I think Exalted is really limited and the Blood thirster should never take it.
Greater simply has everything he needs to become unkillable, FNP(4+) is one of those, and if all fails he can get the extra blade as well for +1A or even +1S with Rampage if he needs so.
Exalted just seems to help your army out but doesn't really bring much survivability besides the wound increasing thing and the dying going back to reserve which are not really things the dude needs anyways. Good for grimore casting though.

Interesting. That is a bummer. Luckily, it didn't really come into play this game.

I like the ability to control the Warp Storm table--especially for a FMC bash. I also think that the one re-roll per turn is enormous. The powers are a bit hit or miss though.

Realizing now that he can't Grimoire himself, I tend to agree with you here. I'd rather take two greater rolls.
