For decades now we have known the Emperor as mysterious yet brilliant men who ultimately failed because he could not understand his people and his own children even if he had millennial to live. But even with so much HH novels casting away the shadow and showing us some parts of his personality the great deal of his life remained a mystery...
So the question is: would you like for BL to write a book about the Emperor that would tell us story starting from his birth and going through 38.000 years of Human history before becoming Emperor of Man?
Or would you rather have that part of his life remain a mystery to us in fear that they will somehow degrade him if they tell us the truth about his life?
I don't know, I find this idea very interesting. And since they were already showing us what kind of man he is in HH they why not write entire book about him and explaining his roots and how he lived his life. Post your opinions below.

The universe has many horrors yet to throw at us. This is not the end of our struggle. This is just the beginning of our crusade to save Humanity. Be faithful! Be strong! Be vigilant!

Hopefully not. Robbing the primarchs oftheir former mystery, just to show us what a whiney bunch of manchildren they were, is bad enough but doing the same to the carriongod would be even worse.

How about Empy as the author. Writing books on parental advice? Family counseling and such. How to maintain a loyal and good family and such. That could be a fun read.

ADB is supposedly going to write a book titled “Master of mankind,” with Emperor playing some unspecified role within it.

I don't believe that the Emperor is going to be a PoV character in that. I expect it's going to focus on an attendant in the Palace, a Custode, possibly Dorn as he's at the Palace now, and maybe (hopefully) Malcador. The Big E will definitely be there as a supporting character, but as always I imagine he'll be more of a presence than a true character. If you want something where the Emperor actually appears as a character, read the short story The Last Church. I forget if it's in Tales of Heresy or Age of Darkness, but it's one of those.

Agreed.
Showing things from The Emperor’s perspective would be a bad move IMO.
But still, it would not hurt to learn a thing or two about the big man himself.

A book covering his whole life is a terrible idea because there would be so little detail about anything. Different boooks covering key eras or events could be interesting.
According to the background we have the emperor worked behind the scenes for much of human history so that would be rather dull to cover. A book about the unification war and the creation, use and cull of the Thunder Warriors could be decent, depending on author.

I would love a book/books about the Unification Wars. Unfortunately, I don't see it being done until they've wrapped up the Heresy series, so another 10 years maybe .

There's a short story, the Last Church, that is more or less about the Emperor (albeit not from his perspective). It's a pretty great read, in part because it goes past the "glorious mary stu master of mankind" surface and goes deeper into the Emperor. When that happens, you realize the guy has a much darker aspect to him. It changed my perspective on the Big-E.
This quote from the story sums up the Emperor's inner psychology well:

No, there shouldn't be. I don't want to read about Buddha, Jesus, and Gandhi all being the same Catholic Space Nazi, reincarnated through time and space.
I mean, if done well, that book could be hilariously amazing. But I doubt that any author, no matter how skilled, could pull it off.

That's fine as a small element of the plot, but a whole book about the Emperor? That's... heresy.

I'm really stoked about 'Master of Mankind.' The impression I got was that it was indeed all about the Emperor, although on his blog, Aaron Dembski-Bowden was humorously contemptuous towards the idea of the story being from the Emperor's PoV. (Because he's a good writer! )

ADB: I showed the Wolves revealing the key weakness at the heart of the World Eaters; showing Angron that his Legion was broken and worthless compared to the others; that he was the one primarch who couldn't trust his own warriors, and that they didn't care if he lived or died; showing that loyalty to brothers and sons is the heart of success for the Legiones Astartes, to the point even Lorgar makes a big deal out of saying the World Eaters and their primarch were massively outclassed by Russ, and Angron was too stupid to see the lesson Russ had sacrificed time, sweat, and blood, to teach. We're talking about a battle the Wolves won, by isolating the enemy general through pack tactics, and threatening to kill him, without a hope of defending himself. It was a balance, 50/50 - Angron overpowered Russ, and the Wolves were losing ground to the World Eaters; but Russ and his warriors had Angron by the balls, and barely broke a sweat. They won, no question. Lorgar even says: "The Wolves won, meathead."
Dorn won’t help you either. He’s too busy being the Emperor’s groundskeeper, hiding behind the palace walls. The Wolf is too busy cutting off heads as our father’s executioner, while the Lion holds on to his secrets, and has no special fondness for you. Who else will come? Not Ferrus, certainly. Nor Corax either. Even as we speak, I suspect he flees for Deliverance. Sanguinius?’ Curze laughed cruelly. ‘The angel is more cursed than I. The Khan? He does not wish to be found. So who is left? No one, Vulkan. None of them will come. You are simply not that important. You are alone.’ Konrad Curze to Vulkan
