Didn't see anyone else posting one, so I thought I would
Early stages of work. I am about to gloss coat it so that I can use pin washes on the various panel lines. Jet packs will get attached after that. Shield, main gun, and secondary guns are magnetized. Two magnetized hardpoints on on the tops of the jet packs for support systems..
Also working on a Sun Shark Bomber and am planning on having both of these in fairly advanced state for a game at my LGS on Tuesday.

Would've been interesting to see it before it was painted, but looks cool and big anyway. I'm interested in seeing that bomber though, since it looks kind of like a WWII-era bomber from the top and I have some ideas for it.

Having never seen a mawlac, that doesnt help(Tyranids are the only army i have never face)

If you could put it on ground level next to some infantry models (IG/Ork sized) that would be really helpful, and possibly a bottom view?

For the magnetizing, what did you use? Rectangular REM? Cylinders?
Was the ... slot / receptacle nice and big, recessed? Wouldja couldja post a pic showing the REM?
REMs from Radio Shack or something like KJmagnets.com?

I used the 1/8" x 1/32" disc magnets from K&J (D201)
http://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=D201. For the main gun and the shield, I used 2-3 magnets on each side of the connection.

It's stated as being the same size as standard battlesuit heads. Given that it does not actually contain a head, and if the technology is getting better we can assume that the same type of sensors etc. are getting smaller, why give an enemy a bigger target to aim at? We all know the pilot is in the chest, so it makes sense to armour that to the best of your ability, but giving the enemy a better chance to disable the main sensor cluster just to make it look more anthropomorphic just doesn't make sense at all.
