I am testing the water on this one. I have been offered a Tau limited edition codex and will raffle it off. I am thinking of selling the raffle tickets for about £3 - £5 each. Winner will be randomly drawn from a hat. I haven't decided about postage cost, maybe free to UK but winner pays postage if in another country?

What's the objective? If it's to make you some money then I'd go down the Ebay route.

Ebaying it means those who couldn't afford it to get hold of it.
Raffling means th people buying the most tickets are still likely to get it, but there's always a chance a single-ticket raffler might win it.

The only question, if you make shedloads off this, are you going to donate off the excess, beyond a certain value?

Purpose is to create more blog traffic. I have been offered the codex at RRP and I just want to cover it. I doubt Ebay would get me RRP back or more.

I don't think it would be right me making loads of money off this and I think I should donate it to a worthy cause. I think I would donate it to Cancer Research or something.

Looks good.
You don't have to tell us how much, either made or donated, as long as someone ends up with a Tau book.
The only other problem is how to gather payment.

A raffle sure sounds like more fun then ebaying it. I'm presuming you have some public way of displaying how the winner is selected in real time - if you need help with this, Yakface could tell you how, he's done it with other prizes.

I would tell people how much has been donated to be fair. Payment would be via Paypal.

Limit the amount of raffle tickets to the cost of the book.
