Anybody been watching the remake of this ?

Its in Phase 2 Closed Beta i think ?

So far its looking good, bringing back some of the things from FFXI.

Black Mage

Might have missed one, you have to level sub classes to 30/15 to do a quest to unlock the above.


I'm really liking how the game is turning out so far over the first time they did it.

Sorry, but Square burned me so hard on the pile of crap that was 14's first release that I've got no more desire to give them money. They have run out of second chances from me.

But i loved FF11 Online so much that ill be trying this one again as they at least admitted the game was bad and a complete Redo.

I will have a good first impression of the redo soon.

So did I Spyder. "Hey I can play early!" I thought. I uninstalled the game and cancelled my sub the same day as I started.

I also played FF11 and it was okay, though it suffered the same problems as all mmos, broken economy namely. I played back when grouping was mandatory at anything past level 10 or so (IIRC). And I admit, it was a pretty good game, though it's nothing I'd ever want to come back to.

And as much as I'd love to embrace Square, I've finally turned them out of my home. They've produced so many pieces of trash and just genuinely bad products in the past many years that I can no longer support them.

The lack of an "X" in the title made me wonder if something else was going on.

I was in beta in the first 14, and still bought it hoping things would get better.

and FF11 had a bad economy from the farmers, but it was still easy to make Gil. Required to group past level 10 is when it was fun. I heard they made the game easy mode though.



Thats why beta is great though, its a great way to try the game, and of course try to help make it better if the devs listen.

FF14 will have an open beta FYI, best time to try it for free, nothing to lose. Since Wild star, Archage and bless or blessed wont be till Fall or next year



As for the other Games the company has made.. Never played them. Just the Final Fantasy stuff.

11 has some of my fondest MMO memories. I still really miss those days.

I did alpha and beta of 14, but with all the screaming and yelling I did on the forums it pissed me off to all high hell that nothing changed. Unfortunately for them there is just too many good F2P MMOs out there now that fill that void. Asking for a month sub when games like GW2 exist is just shooting yourself in the foot.

11 was amazing.

14 made it hard to want to move.

Plus the renaming of player races seemed to be silly since they looked so similar.

How are we defining "easy mode"?

I don't call forced grouping a quality form of difficulty, as what it does is add frustration to find and build groups. Difficulty through good fight design and mechanics is awesome, difficulty through needing to find a limited choice of classes I'll pass on.

I loved the Red Mage and i play as a healer, so i never have group issues



I'm just giving them the benefit of the doubt on the remake, the gameplay vids and graphics look nice so far.

Can't wait to give it a try.

I have a large thread about my experiences playing the game, both in the early beta as well as going back a year later to see what had been fixed. I have a 50 Paladin and 50 Monk, and will be playing it when it relaunches. As a Legacy member I am in the beta, but because of the nda I think that is all I can admit to.

Your not even supposed to admit your in beta from the NDA.

I'll probably try it out, as I love me some Final Fantasy.
