I'm deciding if I should use shield drones or shield generators on my crisis suits, any thoughts?
Also, for non-commander suits, I can't seem to decide if using 3 weapons on one suit or 2 weapons and a support system would be better...

Both supply a 4+ inv save but the generator is twice as expensive. Providing your careful with positioning drones are the way to go in my opinion.
With regards to any type of crisis suit, they should be used to focus on areas of the game that the rest of your army can't.
As you can only fire two the only reason to use three hard points is if you are twin linking your primary weapon; but make sure you choices compliment each other (for example plasma and fusion).
The only exception is if you feel an urge to deploy a flamer on every suit no matter what it's task is. Which is brutal if you play a lot of the T3 army's out there.

Ah ok, that makes sense! I plan on running railheads, broadsides, and riptides with groups of firewarriors + 1-2 pathfinder units. I'm guessing my weakness right now would be hordes, so maybe use some plasma + burst cannon + support system? or if I face an extremely horde heavy army use burst + flamers?

With the 6th ed rules for flamer overwatch it makes them fantastic additions to crisis teams that you're planning on using up close and personal.

I like Burst Cannons, 10 pts for it isn't a bad deal at all. I think Missile Pods are a bit expensive but depending on how you run your list these could be good. I also like TL Fusion Blaster for anti AV14, some ability to threaten flyers and taking down MCs and multi-wounders. I think BC+Flamer is a pretty decent, cheap option that can support vs infantry.

My current favorites are TLFB/PR, FB/PR/Flamer. We've got plenty of S5 AP5 from pretty much... anywhere, really, so I don't see a lot of value in adding more from Crisis suits. If you're going for BCs in your Elite slots, go for Stealth Suits instead - cheaper for a single BC, and you get all the other benefits of Stealth Suits.
We can get S7 by the bucketload in so many other slots these days, I don't see the need for MPs on Crisis. To me, Crisis are there to fill the holes in the rest of your list, assuming you're not taking Riptides. Which means that you should be focusing on AP2 / AP1 weapons to take out heavy armor and elite infantry; potentially using Early Warning Override to give you some defense against deep strikers if that's what you need. Other ones to consider are Flamers and Airbursting Fragmentation Projectors, for the ability to ignore cover and get lots of hits without needing Markerlight support, depending on how you're fielding your Markerlights.

Depending on if it was a codex mistake or just a change from previous edition;
2x Fusion Blasters and 1x Flamer.
For what its going to be doing, decent all-round firepower. The 2x Fusion guns can be easily buffed (as compared to last edition) to decent accuracy, freeing up that last slot.
Very TAC.
