Hi guys, new to plasticard scratch building and was wondering what the consensus is on the best glue to use. Super glue or poly cement or perhaps something else? Poly cement might be handy because I plan on using spare sprues to strengthen some of the structures, so it would be good if plastic glue stuck well to plasticard. Also thought about balsa wood for strengthening.

Anyone got any opinions? Thanks

Plasticard is sheet styrene so its basically the same stuff as GW models are made out of.

Super glue would work fine but I would worry about the fragility of the joints due to superglue being very brittle. I would only really use it for attaching the balsa wood to it. Hot glue also works to a limited extent.

I used testors plastic glue/cement for all mine (same as you use on models) and it worked wonderfully. You should be ablt to bond sprue bits to it directly with plastic glue.
