Salamanders squad that I just finished. Heavy bolter and Roman style shoulder pads are from Anvil Industries (highly reccommend). Cape is from WH Dark Corsairs ?

-Primed black in areas where no light hits, white on other areas.
-Vallejo GC sick green base
-Reaper Moth green from the top down and on tops of plates for highlight
- Army Painter Quick shade brushed on
- black oil wash in recesses
- sponged battle damage
- Testors matte varnish over all
- cape is primed black, silver base coat, strips of transparent purple, blue, orange, yellow to get the heat effect. I thought it would look cool to mimic the hide of some metal-hided lizard/salamander.

Bases are cork
- prime black
- dark red where cork meets base
- smaller area done in white, lighter red over the white
- even smaller area in white, orange over the white
- small sliver of white, yellow over that
- touch of white for hottest highlight
- bubbles are just drips of dried white glue

Magma bases look great and the Marines themselves are nicely painted

Love your attention to detail. That sergeant is amazing! I'm not the biggest fan of magma bases in general, but I'm in the minority on that, so most folks will love them. Are you planning on adding chapter/squad markings to them at some point?

I love the heavy bother model.

I like your take on the magma bases. I love the cape but I feel like the sergeant is over-adorned with the backpack compared to the rest of the squad. He would make a better Captain. That heavy bolter guy is nice as well with the ammo conversion. Overall good job.
