I am new to Infinity and starting a PanO army and thought about also starting Tohaa while building a PanO army.

My question is what should I know about Tohaa before buying?

One thing that sets them apart from others is that they can always do link teams of three. They have a lot of viral weapons too.

Do note not all their units have the ability to link.

They are also the newest release in the range, so your options are pretty limited with them at this point (although for the same reason I doubt there will be many months that don't feature a new Tohaa release over the next year or so).

What CDK said is the most important part. Other noteworthy mentions are:

1. Symbiont armour essentially gives the models wearing it 2 wounds (but very weak against fire weapons)
2. The above is especially useful for the Tohaa jump infantry the Gao Tarsos, which are arguably the best in the game now.
3. They have excellent G-servant bots that are a pain to kill due to having a high PH, hyper dynamics and mimetism.
4. Their TAG - Gorgos - is getting a bad rap at the moment due to how fragile it is for the points, but that might be tempered by its size once the model is released. Essentially if its small its not actually too bad.

The models have gotten better which each new release. Noteworthy mentions are the Makaul & Gao-Tarsos.

Noteworthy mentions of Tohaa:

1. Symbiont armour gives its wearer almost NWI. You can also fix them with engineers or medkits (PH roll). However Fire kills symbiont armoured models dead from one hit. Heavies and TAG are worse than others due to this. Other armies have save-or-keep burning mechanic, Tohaa has save-or-die.
2. Triads. 3 man link teams from different unit types. You can have multiple triads at the same time too. The downside is that they are only 3 models big.
3. Tohaa has very few real heavy weapons. Only 3 HMGs and even less "better" guns.
4. No real hackers. The only hacking device is a defensive one on a weakish WIP for an insane SWC cost.
5. Medikits are safe this time because of symbionts.

Tohaa seem to be a tricky faction to play. They want to get close to hit something with their shiny viral guns, but at the same time they don't want to be there in fear of flamethrowers, rockets and so on.

Those are just my thoughts, I don't play Tohaa, so my theorycrafting might be off.

Forever a pone.
