I have been given a dreadnaught by a friend as I'm just about to start playing 40k. The problem is it has no feet. Any ideas on how to improvise? Firstly I'm no modeling genius so it needs to be kept simple. i thought maybe bottle tops but it just didn't look right. I have looked on e-bay and it seems it would be cheaper to get a new dreadnaught, as the legs and feet are being sold together. Keep in mind if you are going to say scratch build it with plastic card etc a) i don't have the materials, nor the skill. I was thinking there is bound to be some preexisting 'thing' which would fit perfectly or could be easily adapted. Maybe i am asking too much

Websites like Bitzbox sell individual parts like feet. I would advise you avoid bitsandkits as their customer service is atrocious

If you can't find dreadnought feet separately, try sentinel feet. The models are of simikar size so it shouldn't look too weird. It may also be that the dreadnought you have had the feet moulded into the base. Try and look for dreadnought bases with feet already in place.

Thanks for your replies and suggestions. The dreadnaught is a full metal model and I imagine the newer dreadnaught base with feet attached are plastic. I'm wondering are they going to be compatible with one another? Also that is really a last resort, i was looking for a more, umm 'home made' fix. But I appreciate the info, and have bookmarked the site as I'm sure i will need their services in the future. Back to the problem at hand. There has to be some.... something, that can be used, adapted, maybe something from the a hardware store? electronic components store? any ideas? suggestions in that regard?

Base all your models like they're wading through two foot deep snow? that way no feet needed!?

Yeah, it occurred to me that i could base it somehow obscuring the feet. Snow, marsh or something else. but i really want to maintain the theme throughout my army, which will be urban. Rubble around the (lack of) feet maybe, not ideal. But unless anyone else has a better suggestion?

Dreadnought feet are usually pretty flat things, so if you don't have plasticard, there is biund to be some kind of flat material you could use to build up the feet from. I mean you could even use lots of layers of cardboard. As long as you pin from the base, through the feet and into the legs they woudn't even be load bearing.

At the very least, even if it doesn't work, you haven't actually spent anything except a bit of time
Just be aware that cardboard can warp if it gets too wet, so maybe try and seal the card first before paunting.

The plastic feet are identical to the metal ones.

I would try and make my own first, and if I couldn't, I would definitely go the mud/snow/water route.

Wow, that's extremely kind. I'm almost done with my improv job now though. So I will stick with what i have and maybe you will need the feet at a later date, although I am extremely grateful for the offer. Thanks.
