It was fast, but if they are working that seriously on Fallout 4, all is forgiven. I'm more of a Fallout fan than an Elder Scrolls one.

Agreed, sure the elder scrolls is fun, but I have all ways preferred the Fallout series
I know Bethesda recently press released saying that we should expect some major announcements from them this year, so i suspect they are a very busy little studio at the moment

Bethesda making a fallout game is propably the worst thing that could happen. Bethesda has show that they simply suck at making games and ruining yet another game isn't a good thing.
Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.
If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

That opinion is simply worthless. Also i think fallout 4 should be given to another studio, perhaps one who can make the shooting and stuff alot better, Vegas has decent voice acting and an intriguing story but the limp combat it inherited from FO3 means i'm not really playing it anymore. Bethesda should focus on Elder scrolls 6: Dominion.

Same here. Once I played Fallout I was hooked. A new Fallout would be badass. Curious what style they will go with this time around.

I've heard Bethesda is going set the game in boston/commonwealth area where humans use androids as slavework for farming and stuff (see android in rivet city and railroad).

They gave FO3 a better score than FNV, when FNV had better gameplay, story, character interaction and an actual crafting system.
Hum, I should try to play FNV then. I played nearly 300 hours of FO3, maybe it's because of that when I tried FNV for the first time I went "Meh". I just didn't feel like it. Hum, let me install FNV and see if how that goes

Metacritic is a joke but personally I would also give a higher score to the game I don't have to play with magical walkthrough. The kind that has tips like:
Don't talk with person A before person B because person C critical to plot won't talk to you.
If your companion disappears, kill him and write this code in console...
If after two days person X won't show up, just reload (before killing bazillion enemies), try again and hope for the best.
And numerous, numerous others...
Fallout NV was THE buggiest game I've ever played. Without a single doubt in my mind and by a long shot.
And yes, it was much better than F3 and many things were patched.. eventually... But you should not have to wait a year to rate a single player game.

Am I the only person sad here about this?!? Skyrim was an absolutely EPIC game that deserves many more major DLCs than Fallout 3 ever got. I have played both the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series, and I truly believe Bethesda makes better games with swords, magic, and dragons than guns, mutants, and PIP-Boys.
It upsets me to see that Fallout 3 got four major DLCs and even a new game/expansion (New Vegas) whereas Skyrim gets two major DLCs and then backshelved. *sigh*
I suppose one can justify that Elder Scrolls Online will be a more than worth-while consolation for this travesty, but as an RPG player, and not so much an MMO player, I'm skeptical at best. I guess one can only be optimistic... :\

Heh, fair enough. I generally don't rate games based on bugs. Its strange, I know, but I'm kinda of like that.

Been enjoying Skyrim of late, so a pity, but at least they added the legendary skill thingy before the end.
Still never played Fallout, considered picking up one of them occasionally for the 360, but no idea which one stands out.
My biggest hope for the next Elder Scrolls game, would be some kind of drop in/out co-op play as it was the only thing missing to make it a standout game for Aura and me. Perhaps with the more powerful consoles it might become a reality.

FO3 is my favorite game of all time (replacing Morrowind). I played FO3 for something like 500+ hours on both PS3 and 360 over the course of three years and never once encountered a bug or at least not one that I noticed.
I like FNV, too, but I don't think it has the same depth of character and its story is not even close to as good. I have every confidence that Bethesda will make an excellent FO4.
It's kind of a relief to know that the Skyrim DLC is done as long as that also means another big Bethesda RPG will be announced this Summer or Fall for the Winter after this one.
Fallout 3 was ok, but I greatly prefer New Vegas. FNV just seemed to do a much better job of capturing the spirit of Fallout than FO3 did. Sure, it was buggy, but it inherited a lot of those bugs from FO3, which, in turn, got them from Oblivion.
I enjoy Skyrim, and started playing it again a week or so ago (with lots of mods installed). I'm not surprised that there won't be any more DLC. Maybe they'll do one last big patch for a final hurrah.

I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method... is love. I love you Sheriff Truman." - Twin Peaks
I wish they'd have done at least another major content DLC - frankly Dawnguard didn't interest me much. Thank Cthulhu for workshop integration, which has made this my favorite TES game.
As far as Fallout 4 : couldn't be less interested. I went along with Fallout 3 because hey, it was new Fallout so at least we were getting something to continue a new franchise I loved. New Vegas took me back to the southwest, and I liked it better than Fallout 3 - but it still didn't grab me all that much. I may pick up Fallout 4 on some distant day when it's well and truly on sale.
But Wasteland 2 ought to be coming soon - and that will be an actual continuation of the pure joy I got in Fallout 1 and 2 (or so I hope, and if it isn't I will probably die a bit on the inside). Frankly I'm far more excited for actual isometric party based role playing games (Wasteland 2, Shadowrun Returns, Project Eternity, Torment ) made by people like me, for people like me than I will ever be for (personal opinion here) bastardized mediocrity like Fallout 3.
They gave FO3 a better score than FNV, when FNV had better gameplay, story, character interaction and an actual crafting system.
No I disagree. FO3 HAS the better story, by a long shot. But the overall gameplay goes to FNV hands down. Whenever asked, I say "FO3 for the story, and FNV if you want to really get into playing the game"
So since its to each his own, I guess MetaCritic isnt a joke eh? Ive never read the guys reviews but a review is based on that persons opinions is all Im saying.
And who was it that said they never played the original Fallout?!? Holy gak get that game!! You can get it in a bundle with like 4 other FO games for next to nothing, its a very fun game. I made a super badguy in the first one once, by killing the whole town and then realized you could kill children in that game.....SO I became a child murderer
CthuluIsSpy wrote: Oh, I still dislike Metacritic, nothing changed there. But then again I don't like ratings all that much.
Fallout 1 was brilliant, definitely a must for a PC gamer. I wasn't a child killer in that game...in Fallout 2 though...
Which Fallout had the pick-pocketing children? 'Cause that's the one I went berserk.
