I was considering doing some paper-hammer razorbacks and drop pods and was wondering if anyone had any information about them or where i could buy pre made paperhammer because warhammer is just getting too expensive. I would really like to know how strong they would be if made out of plasticard and if people would notice there not real models.

Screw a Hell Pit, or Warp Lightening Cannon or Doom Rockets, even The Dreaded 13th. All pale in comparison to the ability to place a forest.

I'm not sure people sell them, but you could always make them yourself. Templates and tutorials are available all over the place.

And yes, generally people will notice, but if you do it well enough, few will care. Making some out of cardstock or plasticard should be fairly sturdy, especially if you start with a foamcore base.

The Seraphs of Thunder: a homebrew, almost entirely converted successor Deathwing. And also some Orks. And whatever else I have lying around.

They will notice it's not a real model, even if it's just because of the weight, but let me tell ya, people will let it slide a lot more if a it's a good looking real sized proxy than a can of coke.

If it had care and thought put into it's construction, I would love to play against it.

In my book, effort can be as valuable as money.

Proxying something that actually looks like what it's supposed to be is a step up from most people's efforts. Go for it.

I dont see why not-Just paint it up and put glyphs/chapter icons where you see fit... also with rhino, taking a Tamiya/Airfix 1:35 scale tank that looks like a rhino (cant remember exactly what it it) and use that as the base for it.

That's actually what happened, Horus is secretly a Tervigon.

Depends on the quality of the model.

If you download the templates and invest the effort in building them right (it's a lot of work) you'll have something that is better than the average half-built gray plastic army, but much worse than a decently painted real army. I'd probably play against it at least once, but I'd rather play against the real models.

If you just throw together some vaguely model-shaped blobs of paper then your "models" are no better than the cardboard box with "Rhino" written on it. I'd play against it if and only if you were testing a new army idea before buying the real models and specifically asked for a test game with lots of proxies, otherwise I'd refuse.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
