I haven't played OK since the new book, just been busy with other stuff but I would recommend the following:

2-3 Solo Sabretusks for chaff/redirecting/mage hunting
A BSB
Drop the Tyrant and go for a Slaughtermaster Level 4
Stonehorn can be good but it is a lot of points at 2000 try to bring 1 or 2 of the more competitive Ironblasters
Can't go wrong with 4 Mournfang with iron fists and a dragonhide, this unit will break units in 1 turn, when it comes to Monster Cav this unit is the best.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

Ogres follow the trend for the combat characters being really limited and overcosted. I wouldn't say exemplify it, but off hand I can think of two builds that work. Flying carpet or potion of strength+ASF Sword. Both are really expensive for what they do, the flying carpet lord takes on war machines and the ASF lord fights characters.

HOWEVER, a slaughtermaster is far more versatile, as they can take the hit me on 6s combo and still cast magic. Plus there isn't a bad lore amongst their choices.

You also need a BSB. Most people take the armour of destiny and a great weapon for the ward save and strength. Then a firebelly with the crown of command. These ride in Ironguts. The choice for this is the magic banner. These guys take the standard of discipline so the BSB can take the ward save.

Two units of four mournfang are brilliant, ironfists are the way forwards. No champs on these fellows, you want the standard to be last one to die. One of these units takes the dragonhide banner. Not sure of the points limit they can take, but I think the Armour Piercing banner could be a good choice.

As for rare, Two ironblasters is by far the most competitive choice.

Malifaux masters owned: Guild(Sans McCabe), Outcasts(Sans Misaki), Arcanists(Sans Marcus)

I'm still new to OK, what is the 6s combo on Slaughtermasters?

Don't those 3 things add up to 10 points too much worth of magic items?

I had a ton of luck with lots of minimum sized gnoblar units.
Those little buggers just die so fast, breaking them down to multiple units of 10 seemed to work better than ever taking more. A unit of ~50 gets beat down faster than 5 units of 10.

Gnoblars never, ever win combat. If they do, go by a lottery ticket, you're having a really lucky day.

As for leadbelchers, combined into a block of 6. 6 will shoot just as well, but have a chance at winning combat; something that just 3 ogres will struggle with.
I personally would not run them unless you want all in with shooting (2 units of 6 or 8), but that's just me.

Anyhow,
Iron Belcher = Amazing.
Slaughter Master is better than Amazing.
