Subject: Timing on Target Locks

Just wondering how the timing/ordering works for models with target locks firing at different targets from the rest of their unit. Do you have to declare targets for the unit and the target-lock at the same time, then resolve each of their shooting attacks? This seems to be suggested given the shooting phase's order of steps: nominate a unit to shoot, then choose target, then resolve (6th Ed. Rulebook p.12); however, it's by no means stated explicitly anywhere.
This would mean that you couldn't, for example, have one target-lock equipped suit bust open a transport and the rest of the suits in his unit kill the guys inside, which is a tactic I've seen thrown around in a few places.

All your shooting from one unit happens simultaneously. you cant do what you want to do with target-locks.

Shooting attacks happen at the same time, unless there is a specific exception. Target Lock does not have this exception, it just allows a model to select a different target than the rest of the unit.

You must declare the different targets before dice are rolled.

You declare all shooting targets first and then resolve the shooting. So what you do is say this unit is targeting X, then say these models with Target Locks are going to target Y. Then you resolve the shooting.

Just to avoid any confusion, this is on a unit to unit basis though. You can fire with one unit, see what happens, and then decide where to fire your next unit.
That is all.
