Which is scarier?

2 Meltavet Squads in Chimera’s
Basilisk

Or

2 Plasmavet Squads in Chimera’s
Griffon

What is in the rest of the list? If you have good AT elsewhere, the plasma vets are better anti-infantry with the griffon. If you need AT, you need the melta vets.

What are you trying to accomplish ? ( I am a Mech guard player myself ) Personally I find Melta distasteful because of its lack of reach . Plasma seems for me to be the Swiss Army knife for Veteans , good range , damage and AP , ( and honestly who cares about " Gets Hot " it's guard ) , and avoid Griffons. They are cheap and kinda like jail bait , take a Medusa instead

gives me 100 points to play with, so i can make it ALL plasma, and let my AT be taken care of by Manticore/vendetta

or change up 2 units of plas vets to meltvets and buy a Basilisk., dunno if i need more AP3 though??
Note - everyone is in a Chimera

I would drop a plasma CCS , ( 100 PTs right ? Minus there chimera which is 155 )
Drop down to 3 plasma vet squads with 2 melta squads I the vendettas which frees up another almost 300 points , throw in some tanks , doctrines ECt about 600 ppoints to spend

secondary CCS is 4x plas guns though........

plus orders (get back into the fight, and BID, are crux when your guys are forced out of their boxes.)

i also need to mention that i am completly OCD with my lists, they absolutely have to have symmetry. (basically i can split up my chimera's down the middle, left army/right army)

if i do left flank (4 chimera's, manticore) and right flank (same) that leaves Ol Griffon Bob, out there in the middle of the field trying to plink, nasty horde armies or getting laughed at by MEQ.

maybe a Hydra for FMC, or DP???

Your guys are in fething IFV's Orders are kinda pointless for the majority of the battle as disembarking to recieve them defeats the purpose of having th chimera the only AA you need is the vendettas , take an astropath at the minimal if your running flyers

you missed the bit where he said when they are "forced out of their boxes"?

You have 100 points to spare? That means MARBO or PLASMA PISTOLS.

You need more bodies. You win this edition by having more troops. Drop 1 of the CCS and 1 or even 2 veteran squads. Then get a 3rd vendetta and a blob squad. If you can't afford both, then definitely go for the blob squad.

I agree about the bodies part, however my local meta sees TONS of Helldrakes, and Artillery, so anyone caught out in the open......just..dies. This is what i probably will run for GA tournament on Saturday here in Murfreesboro. again thank you all for your feedback and i'll let you know how well/poorly i do.
