After seeing people Rage-Quit in BO2 because I was killing them over and over with my 'fully automatic non-sniper rifle type weapon that is the best for sniping' (The SMR with selectfire if you must know) and I thought "are they rage quitting because they are noobs or is it that they think I have aim-bot?" (they were shouting at me over the mic saying I was a hacker and other stuff I dare not to mention) But now I thought do other people on dakka Rage-Quit and for what reasons?
Is it quitting just before your team loses?
Is it that your a glitcher and another player does something for the glitch to not work?
Noobs camping in corners with LMG's?
'Tactical quitting'?
so Why do you Rage-Quit? and for what reasons?

People have worked out how to glitch on that game. When I meet someone doing it, I make it my business to kill them as often as possible.
They quit when they're losing.

There are some games that have such absurd levels of BS I stopped playing them a while ago unless I'm drunk or drinking...
I used to be more angry and competitive when it came to games but these days I just try to have fun my own way.
Usually that's by doing something stupid and dying in a spectacular fashion but at least I'm having fun.

This is my thoughts on it, and I used to play TF2 on the Playstation. You want to talk about some serious fething hackers in a game, try that one But it did end up making me SOOoooo much better at the game because of my perseverance.I got to a skill level where hackers wouldnt be able to kill me for the longest time, and Id be slaughtering their team mates. I could hold off 3 or 4 of my opponents at a time or be a Pyro and run the entire team while my team captured points or took the bag. So in a way, those cheating hookers actually made me better.
In saying that, I still absolutely hate people that cheat/hack/glitch of any kind. If you suck so fracking bad that you have to use aimbot or healthhacks.....get better FFS! Practice! You dont pick up a guitar and know how to play like Jimmi Hendrix in a week. You cant get a car at 16 and suddenly you are a pro drifter, that gak takes time.

I only rage-quit when I simply cannot tolerate the amount of in-game nonsense that aids my failings. Partly why I rarely play FPS's - I'm average but little more. So when I'm in-game and getting wasted, time to find another server.
And then there's games like Bloodbowl... If I wanted to become a masochist I would play a 48 hour streak over a weekend just to really remind me how annoying many bad dice-rolls can be.

I rage quit all the time, but I don't do online play often. I just get irked at annoying parts of a game, i.e. cheap turret sections, badly done bosses. I just go for a break and come back.

I've played some games where the only reason I won was because half the enemy team got taken off because of sheer bad luck...

It depends. If I'm online and someone was blatantly cheating I would. But otherwise I don't see the point. Stay to the bitter end and learn and get better.
If it's singleplayer I've come very close to ragequitting before. I can't recall if I have done or not, but sometimes I've come across sections of games which just don't feel tested because of inconsistent difficulty or bugs and make me want to throttle the devs.

When I get spawn camped I do 1 of 2 things
1.shout leeroy jenkins and leg it to the other side of the map to place a tac insert.
2.bring out the gold remmington and kill all of the enemies because the remmington is OP (one shot kill)
and If I cannot do any of those....rage-quit.

I never Quit Multiplayer matches even if i am sucking hard. I do RAGE, and i mean seriously badly. I am a quiet softly spoken guy, who never raises their voice, unless drunk, so it's like some sort of displacement, it also applies to any malfunctioning technology. A bit worrying as while playing a particularly bad match of BF3 i was crying literal tears of, figurative, pure anguish. I have smashed controllers, seriously repressed right here lol. My rage worsens the better i can be at a game. I had to quit Halo 4 and bf3 as although i often got 30/5 in a team slayer or 25/1 in a Rush match i couldn't take the stress of not performing well. I remember Loving Killzone 2 and MW2 but it was because i was sooo bad, K/D 0.4 or something pathetic. When i actually played well i got a real kick out of it. Just remembered, Battlefield 3 caused me to smash a table to kindling and fracture 2 knuckles. Not a proud moment, one of my lowest.

It would depend on the game really. FPS are the worst for it. In an RPG I couldn't care whether I died 2 or 222 times to kill an enemy. FPS on the other hand shows you the K/D ratio, its always nice to see youve killed more than you died.
As for rage quitting, I'v done it a few times...broke an xbox 360 because of it aswell. Safe to say I'v never played that game online again(unless it was co- op orientated).

See I dont agree with that argument for the K/D ratio. If I died 15 times yet only killed 7 people, yea it looks bad. BUT most the time when that happens, its been me dying that many times, to constantly harass my opponents to keep them busy else where. Or like I said previously, some badasses just need to die, regardless of the amount of times it took you to do it.
Once, I was handed my ass probably 13 times in one match by the SAME player. The dude was friggin awesomely good. I finally got him and killed his ass. So I PM'ed him and said something along the lines of "See....youre only 13 times better then me. HUZZAH!"

Its all down to player perspective. Yea eventually killing a guy who beat you down is always good. Is it worth it if you put your team at a disadvantage because of that(I.E Team Deathmatch modes)? Depends on the player.
It also depends on the match, "will this game affect my stats?" If no then I'll usually run around like a chicken and do stupid things. If so then I usually play differently. I think its akin to "WoW Syndrome" as I'v called it. Watching a number go higher and higher for no real benefit other that it makes you feel good.

I completed Ninja Gaiden 2 on hard, among other badasseries, so I'm well used to and approve a well thought challenge, not just a bloated HP bar.
HOWEVER, I get so frakkin' mad over fighting games online, I actually decided not to play another one ever again. Marvel vs Capcom 3, I snapped so hard with the frakking Sentinel Spam, it's a wonder I didn't brake both my hand and controller.

I rage quit sometimes .. sometimes I just can't help it.. usually what makes me do it is something like an annoying glitch in a game or the way the controls work that gets me all pissy when it kills me 1 too many times. But I just take a break and then come back later
