Hi everyone. I'm a brand new player who has been roped into playing by my boyfriend and a group of friends. Currently fielding shiny new Dark Angels. Any advice would be gratefully received!! So far I have only played twice against a very experienced Dark Eldar army - needless to say they wiped the floor with me. I get the feeling this is going to cost me a lot of time and money :p

Dark angels are good, I'd say choose a ravenwing (all bikes) or a deathwing (all terminator) army. They are both highly competitive and cheap to build due to the dark vengeance box set on ebay! I may even start a deathwing army thinking about it

It all started with the Dark Vengeance box set and has now spiralled out of control (typical woman when it comes to shopping!).

On top of the DV set i now have:

Librarian in terminator armour
Chaplain in terminator armour
Deathwing command squad
Deathwing knights
Deathwing terminator squad
Veterans squad
Ravenwing command squad (or knights - haven't built them yet!)
Venerable dreanaught
Ravenwing Darkshroud
2 Typhoon land speeders
Landraider Crusader
Whirlwind

Thinking i should pick up a razorback/rhino since currently my tactical squads are having to footslog - hence the horrible death they suffered in turn 1 against the dark eldar...

Picked up 2 razorbacks yesterday and left off a Nephilm Jetfighter from the first list. Think that is army complete for now, time to get painting!!!

I tend to play Dark Angels as a very elite alpha-strike force using Ravenwing to rush the enemy's deployment zone and drop the Deathwing in to finish them off; it works well for me, though there are other ways to play Dark Angels. Against Dark Eldar Ravenwing is one of the few builds with any chance at matching their maneuverability, may be worth it to get more bikes.
