It is no Spiderman, but it is a start.

The long, protracted tussle over who gets to try rebooting Daredevil has ended, with Kevin Feige confirming to Newsarama that the rights have indeed reverted back to Disney/Marvel, much as everyone expected them to last year. That was around the time Fox gave up on its last-ditch attempt to make a new, Affleck-free start on the would-be franchise, choosing to let their hold on it expire rather than gamble on Joe Carnahan’s violent, Serpico-influenced take. With Daredevil back in the Disney/Marvel fold, it’s now entirely possible that the character could get a second chance as part of Marvel’s Phase Three, or maybe even turn up in the superhero legal procedural you just know someone like David E. Kelley has been pitching for the past few years—though obviously, nothing has been announced yet. In somewhat-related news, no one is fighting over the rights to Elektra. You can probably have them, if you want.

Carnahan made a sizzle reel to pitch his idea. No gore, but a brief violence.

Spoiler:

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

After seeing The Grey, I think Joe Carnahan would have done OK.

Hope we finally get a decent film out of this character. DD's my fave.

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

Okay, so the male version of "Cougar" is now officially "Albatross".

Now I'm hoping they feth up the production of Fantastic Four and that heads back to Marvel/Disney as well. Not so much for the four themselves, although I don't mind the team, but some of the attached characters that license bizarrely seems to entail.

Sadly I think Spiderman and X-men will be rebooted into oblivion before Marvel gets those back.

As Morathi said, I'd rather have the Fantastic Four back. Not for the Fantastic Four themselves (although having Reed Richards join the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be a good thing), but for everything that comes with them - Doom, Kree, Skrulls, Galactus and so on.

Some of the secondary/Temp members as well, She Hulk for one, who I'd love to see get some interaction with Hulk in an Avengers film.

Hell a Thing/Hulk encounter would be gravy.

... a fair few odd rumours and ideas knocking about to do with the next X-men movie too. Given the nature of the story they appear to be telling.. well.... wouldn't be too hard perhaps to fold various characters into a new/rebooted universe perhaps ?

One notes that Wheddon seemed to be hinting that Quicksilver & the Scarlet Witch will both be in Avengers II ...

... and one could suggest the latter has some form here maybe ?

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.
