Hi,
I like Mephiston, and I'm wondering how people use him with psychic powers.
Eg,
Biomancy powers
Codex powers
Divination
Telepathy
Telekenesis
Combination of discipline powers

Also, will he be able to keep up with a jump infantry heavy army if he doesn't have wings of sanguinius?
All feed back is good

Why is it every week there seems to be the same identical Mephiston thread.

The codex powers are pretty much mandatory because he needs mobility, and if you trade for book powers you only get to pick 2 (whereas he normally has 3 from the BA codex).

You don't even get to "pick" 2 from the other disciplines, as you have to roll dice. At the same time, he doesn't get to "pick" from the BA codex either--his 3 are set in terms of which ones he can use.

The thing to remember is that Mephiston is not an Independent Character, so he can't join a unit, so his function is mainly as a one-man wrecking crew. So biomancy might work--a toughness 9 Mephiston would be pretty scary!

and then you remember he only moves 6" a turn. Codex powers are mandatory, unless you're fighting an assault army.

I think this has been beat to death. Mephiston is too costly for a TAC list imo. He fits well in some tailored lists. I'd always use his base powers; he doesn't need T9, he needs targets in 3+ armor or vehicles.

I'll tell you what he needs, an invuln save. Oh if only he didn't have so many minor problems...

No, he needs rending or AP 2. Too many units can just strap on the 2+ armor and do the Simpsons laugh HA-HA.

i love meFEASTon in all of his glorious fluff, but there really isn't a way to make him better. Just keep playing the libby on a bike, or libby in a drop pod, or just libby.

Admittedly, I felt Mephiston was OP in 5th edition, but now that there are legit group buffs for IC psykers, he would have been more balanced without the AP 3 nerf.

Give him back his conversion field for the 5++ (that he had in 2nd ed) and let him abuse psychic power swapping a bit better (seriously I'd be ok with going down to two powers if I got to pick them, or give me the full 3).

2) Attitude is Everything.
3) Always take it to the Edge.
