Ok I was just wanting some clarification if I'm honest. If I take one commander does that mean only ONE bodyguard or am I allowed to purchase additional bodyguards to accompany him?

One team per commander. The team starts at one model, and you can add a second one (six more if it's for Farsight).

You can take one squad of Bodyguards which can be one or two bodyguards.

Which also means that the commander doesn't even have to join the bodyguard unit.
