Hey dakka, I love building vehicles for my boys but I can't stand painting. Is there an easy way to do this?

The guy at the store said I should use a yellow undercoat for my Bad Moons battlewagons, but sofar, it looks absolutely dreadful.

Anyone got any tips for this? They honestly just have to look 'good enough'

Base coat them black, dry brush them with some silver and then paint some of the orky armour plates with your army colour and some red if they have the red paint jobs upgrade.

wich yellow did you use? painting yellow requires often thin and a couple layers to get the hang of it, followed by a wash, after that id recomend small parts of black and paint metal innside of those like paint have chipped.

The easy way, a airbrush.

Just rattlecan the yellow on and then drybush some rust/bare metal with a bit of a wash from details.

If you despise painting you are probably better off embracing that, rather than telling yourself you will have the patience to get a smooth brushed yellow and giving up after two coats.

if they are just primed yellow, don't fret. wash those buggers in sepia GW, will make you alot happier. then you will probably be enthusiastic about painting all the silver bits, adding rust, and highlights etc.

use the biggest brush possible for the job, wait to do finnicky details till end after you've exhausted every location you can use a big brush for.

git has a good tut here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/374651.page just look at the primed yellow, then at the washed comparison
