This list hinges around the usage of the Necron Forgeworld Tomb Stalkers

Could be fun, what do you think?

It has 18 Wraiths, x3 Monsterous Creatures, and 2 Beefy Close Combat Characters
Assuming no major errors in deployment, most if not all of them should get a turn 2 assault.

If not fighting against lot of flyers could be fun. Maybe D.Lords instead of weak CCB? And more troops? 3 footsloggin immortals isnt so effective. Drakes gonna burn them

Is a CCB really that weak? They are AV13, and have a 4+ cover save when turbo boosting.
Additionally, there will be 18 wraiths and the stalkers right next to them to draw fire.
I mean, this list can only just ignore flyers, I dont have the shooting to deal with them. Given most of my army will be in assault all game, my only option is to ignore them.
Thats partly why the immortals hide in reserves as along as possible.
Also....not every army brings a helldrake given the influx of tau

I'd swap the Overlords for Destroyer lords too, but mainly because they give preferred enemy to the wraiths.

The CCB isn't that weak, but you need to really work your placement to get the sweep attack plus do something useful.

Swapping for Destroyer lords should leave you enough points for another squad of immortals and a scythe (because that extra movement will be more helpful).

With the immortals, make some tesla because that gives you a better result at longer range. If you want some AA, make a squad of them gauss.

D.lord > CCB lord because:
CCB draw fire and want to be in melee, but can't be locked in combat. That means that, both are charging forward to the enemy lines, but if the DLord makes it into a fight, they are probably wont getting shot at for some tim. The CCB OL will get shot at until the barge is dead and then they are on foot. The DLord is also cheaper which lets you, at the very least, give him weave which I think is a massive boost to survivability. Specifically you are probably striking after almost all AP3 weapons but before the vast majority of AP2 weapons in melee. Moreover OL on CCB is warlord, vp (slay the warlord) easy to lose because after losing CCB here you get naked lord vulnerable to shooting, it can be in fact 200pts supremacy for opp, sweep attack in 6th ed is harder to use due to flat out changes, theyre also more vulnerable than was in 5ed, not worth taking here, maybe in AV13 spam, I dont think theyre weak, but d.lord is much better though, and as Mark said d.lord works amazingly with Wraiths.

I know D-lords synergize well with wraiths, just trying to find more threats for the enemy to focus on to ensure my knock-out punch hits as hard as it can.

I see what you intend with them, more targets for the enemy, but with d.lord i think you will have better impact. They can After rethinking opp wont shoot at barges and try to focus on bigger threats. you could also fit here another scythe. A little shooting always help, for example in grounding daemon fmcs in order to kill them in charges.

Maybe one d.lord (warlord) and one ccb? And for spare points enhance your troops?

But generally very interesting list, if only FW was allowed on tournaments (even in my local enviroment) i would like to try it and see opponents face standing up to pure CC crons

What about Imotekh? Night fight doesn't really matter, it will help protect from some shooting plus you get lightning. You'll have to give up both HQs though, but you can use the spare points to buff some troops to take advantage of the res orb. And you'll be able to seize on a 4+ (might as well go first!).

Given the combat nature of this list, the main benefits I'd gain would be some night fighting cover saves, maybe some lucky lightning.
I've never really been a huge fan of him. Immotehk also doesn't have a res-orb, he has a phylactery

Too many games with Zahndrek. Yep, Imotekh is expensive, but if you can't get value out of him (Nightfight, seize initiative, lightning) with this list, he's never going to be worth his points anywhere!

I think Imotekh is worth considering here, additional shooting, effective in 2k games, useful night fight, some random AA beacause now Imotekh can hit flyers, seize initiative is also nice here.

Honestly I think you could greatly benefit from scarab swarms, nothing tarpits quite like, wrecks vehicles of any flavor, or endangers monstrous creatures (that aren't flying) quite like scarabs.

Plus they are a fantastic bullet sponge, you don't want to shoot them, but if you have any vehicles you know you have to, it really is a lose lose situation for your opponent and they are relatively cheap so...SCARABS!

In my previous experiences, scarabs really work best when paired with tomb spyders to boost their numbers a-la scarab farm?

I have a friend who plays necrons all the time, and he has never used spiders. In every scenario he has played, they have always made back their points as arguably the best tank killer in the army, and an incredible meat shield.

Really, with the importance of troops nowadays, scarabs are the perfect "well what the f do I do about those" units, since, when you charge them at full speed towards the enemy, you give the enemy two options: Shoot at your scarabs and waste dozens of shots likely better spent on your troops, or ignore them and either have a unit tarpited for the game, or lose 1 vehicle automatically.

As well, you throw them in front of everything else, and your opponent has 1 option, ignore them and attempt to kill the stuff they are shielding, because regardless they will make it into combat.

And lastly, they are CHEAP! 1 squad of 8 is under 150 pts(I believe) which will easily make its points back. Never a bad thing to have a heavy sacrificial unit

Scarabs are considerable but I think 18 Wraiths are still more powerful. On other hand one scarab unit can do some damage and theyre cheap so you can get some additional points for some whip coils or enhancing troops.

I think that farm works in list totally dedicated to this concept eg 9 spyders lot of scarabs some wraiths.

Not sure if taking 3 spyders and one scarab squad is worth it.

But seriously, this list would synergise really well with him.

And.....scarabs are great, but wraiths are better.

OH, 18 wraiths is cheesy, but I was kinda pointing out that Immotehk is better the higher the points get in a game.

I suppose it'd depend on the army. But I think in mots cases charging them across the board might be better. With Fleet and Move Through Cover, they'd keep pace with my wraiths, and sweep across the board.

Yep. More units to hit. But in this list, nightfighting will help a lot (and the Tau won't like the lightning). Tough call - Nightfighting vs preferred enemy. Actually, because storm and night work even if Imo isn't on the table, you can keep him in reserve and deny points for Warlord.

Hmmm. I don't see any point deepstriking a stalker. Why deny yourself that turn of shooting? also, why put it any closer to the enemy than you have to?

lol. Nice list. Necrons didnt really need another awesome assault unit. T7, 5W for less than 200? That is a pretty sweet MC.

You're fine, I think as I said, barring something bizarre, I would just run them across the board.
Wait....Imo's lightning works even when he isn't on the board???

Yup sure it works like this, to make lightining your army must just include Imotekh.

My opponent had some doubts few weeks ago on polish team championship and judge made it clear. Imotekh dont have to be on table. He might fly in ns whateva.

Tomb Stalkers have been updated in the new IA12, check the top of this link for details.

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/150/519022.page

Oh and the TS has been 205pts for a year or 2 now so you may want to correct the points cost, you will probably have to drop that extra Immortal on the 6 man team to afford them now, also they come with upgrades you can purchase for extra points which may interest you, check the link and you will see them.

Yeah Im very interested in some batrep.

Dont think that you need 3x whip coils in one squad, i run 1-2 of them per squad, since theyre 10pts and sometimes hard to use due to necessity of placing them in squads back. They works well against some mc or elite infantry. But think 3 is too much. Maybe some upgrade for Tomb Stalkers?
