So this is probably a stupid question but I found this in the Apocolypse rulebook, under the Line Breaker Squadron, pg 117:
Traitor Formations
Remember that that’s to the freedom of Apocolypse battles, Chaos players can use traitor versions of any of the Imperial datasheets. For example, it is entirely appropriate to field Chaos Line Breaker squadrons, Renegade Baneblades or Traitor Artillery Batteries
This is a two part question, one is, does this still apply or has there been a new rulebook which overwrites this rule. The second is, if it hasn’t been overwriten by a new rulebook or FAQ, What defines an Imperial datasheet? For the linebreaker, it makes sense as the chaos rulebook has Vindicators but the Suppression Force datasheet requires a Land Speeder. Would I be able to still make use of the datasheet or no, as there are no Chaos landspeeders? Wuld I be able to use IA datasheets or just those in the normal Apocolypse rulebook?
Apologies if the question is convoluted, I can clarify if you have any questions.

You can take a formation only for those units that is in your codex + all units from separate datasheets form the apoc book, such as titan or Baneblade.

There is no FAQ or updated book that overrides this (yet). Supposedly there is a new apocalypse book for 6th edition coming.
What defines an Imperial datasheet?
Space Marines (which includes other Chapters), Imperium of Man ( SoB/ GK) and IG.
Would I be able to still make use of the datasheet or no, as there are no Chaos landspeeders?
Not really sure on this one.
Would I be able to use IA datasheets or just those in the normal Apocolypse rulebook?
That is up to the organizer of the event (or your group if it is a friendly game).

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

I would say yes. The thing about Apocalypse games is that you aren't bound by a FOC or even a single codex, but are allowed to take all the models in your collection. The rules on 117 say that Chaos can use any of the Imperial formations, so you could run a formation that has a landspeeder. Could you give Chaos vehicle upgrades to vehicles not in your codex when using these formations? Probably not, but you could still use them as part of your force.

I agree, I wouldn't use chaos upgrades, only the vehicles themselves. Though I look back at the question now and realize, its apocolypse. With everything else included, mixing a few units isn't that big of a deal. We ally nids, orks and chaos just so we can have one decent sized force.
Also Happyjew, thanks for answering all the parts of my question. Always appreciated with the long drawn out questions

As the Appoc rules are old you really will need to house rule any of the older datasheets, and use the updated Appoc rules Forge World has available for free.
