Back in December I was on CMON when I stumbled onto a thread http://www.coolminiornot.com/forums/showthread.php?51592-1-16-Marine-log&highlight=large

The custom marine the guy was painting was amazing and he ended up posting the website he bought it from.
I ended up purchasing one for myself from the guy's website http://1822creation.yolasite.com/ late December, and since then I've had no update and haven't gotten any responses whatsoever from him.

I understand his website says his "selling is onhold" due to a lot of orders near Christmas, but seriously, it's been 5 months now.

Am I screwed over? or is there a way to recoup the money?

Also has anyone had any dealings with him at all?

Hmm. 5 Months is indeed long in the tooth. Considering Resin takes about 30 seconds to harden. Unless he got like 4000 orders - he has ripped ya off!

Possibly not intentionally, but yes, I suspect your money has gone, unlikely ever to return.

I have to agree with the others. Regardless of weather or not the guy set out to rip you off or just bit off more than he could chew, I'd say you money's gone...

Cheers guys. I'm not even really sad about the money aspect. I was just really looking forward to getting one of those badass marines lol.

I'll just be a bit more careful next time is all.

Contact again.

Threaten that you are a member of Dakka and will tell everyone you know that the place is a rip-off.

Tell them you will make them your "hobby" and that you will get your money's worth by trying to drive down their sales.

Find out their web host and say you will lodge a complaint that they are ripping people off.

The website is pretty sketchy though, with no contacts and very little information there is no way I would deal with them.

I wish you luck.

As for recouping your money, I believe that Paypal or your credit card companies have ways to get your cash back. You'd have to consult with them though.
