I've decided to stop putting money into any KS until I receive the past KS products from them. When I see product in their store that I pledged on and I haven't received them, it irritates the hell out of me.

Skaddi looks quite nice although its not easy to make out the details/what a nice paint job will achieve.

I was tempted but its the only mini I'm interested in and when you add postage its only a £1 under retail, which is usually discounted on their site when the mini comes out so you could loose out.

To me, the proposed/hinted at/feared Bubblehammer Skirmish might actually be BETTER for Mierce!

Once you're at that level/scale of game, it makes more sense to invest in some of the superior looking Mierce offerings for use in a 'counts as' situation.

I'd agree the once (if) it comes out it may well help mierce and others who sell really, really nice stuff

but I think at the moment people are too scared that whatever mini they buy will no longer feature in a faction they want to play (especially dwarf and lizarmen players)

Then they just be planning on doing what I'm planning on doing - playing Darklands with the finest fantasy themed miniatures available!

I do think when Mierce release their rules they could greatly benefit from the demise of warhammer! However, it probably doesn't help a campaign aimed at warhammer counts-as... I do this almost exclusively but really slowed down when word came that fantasy was changing over and doing away with certain armies / units / etc.

So judging from the comments about them still not completing the 2-3 previous kickstarters yet, is that Aug 2015 date for the current campaign pretty much unlikely already?

Most of the Monstrous Mounts sculpts (I believe all but 2 of which were slated for February delivery) have not yet begun being sculpted as of now, almost into May. So... yes, I'd say a brand new sculpt (or even a modification of an existing one) being delivered in August is not very likely...

This is pretty much why Im not backing. I would like a Malacant and I like the scythe version but add 10 pounds for shipping and any deal factor is long gone. I did back the last one (wanted Krull and figured since I was already in for shipping might as well get a Pleasure Demon) but I don't see the value in this one to push me to back it. At this point, they should throw backers who have paid for a bunch of shipping waves or have delayed product a bone and let us back w/o paying for yet another shipping charge.

And Id really like to see my Legionaries in my hands already. The Byzantii was what pushed me to back KS2 and they might finally be casting "soon".

Yea, this is true for me as well. I haven't bought much lately anyway, but my lust buying of cool models has dropped to zero given that wide ranges of things I have no expectations of using anymore. I can't bring myself to project new armies or warbands when I have no idea how many, what kind, or what rules.

New concepts being shown, these won't necessarily be out during this KS:

Yeah I'm not backing any further KS from Mierce until I get my current KS's filled. I put in $20 to the last Mighty Monster thing because it allows me the get a discounted Krull. Until I get my Mounts, my New Kindreds, and the rulebook, I'm not adding anything more.

I'm honestly getting rather uneasy about Mierce right now, given the company history.

Gents, they've only put out two Darklands minis with less than 24hrs to go, one of which is already sculpted! And this was mainly due to some backer pressure asking for Darklands minis. Where's all the doom and gloom come from? They're not going to be limited editions and no-ones forcing you to back these so wait for retail, by all means...

I'm just hoping that everything is in order and it isn't indicative of a lack of revenue. They've been pretty specific about keeping the Bane Legion stuff seperate from Darklands in the past.
I have an enormous pile of Mierce resin, so I'm very confident in their ability to deliver phenomenal quality, but I'm still quicker to look for red flags than I might be with other companies.

In my opinion, there is a currently problem with commissioning sculptors for work, simply because there have been such a big up-swing in demand lately, and that there are more companies trying to employ the few active sculptors that are around. Without knowing, I believe that this can be a problem with the delays Mierce Miniatures are experiencing. Larger companies are bullying the scene currently, with that they are able to provide more work for a better pay to the sculptors. This is, obviously, a good thing for the sculptors, but less so for small, independent projects that will be less prioritized by the sculptors. I also believe that this will be poorer for the community and the hobby in a broader meaning as well, as it will, in the end, provide less options and thusly less variety for the customers.

Are there any delays though? Apart from the book, which could be considered a special case, I don't think they've failed to deliver anything on time. The fulfillment times seem to have increased a bit, but the fact they have realistic time scales, and are hitting them consistently, isn't something to be worried about imo.

Well, there are some delays for sure, although they might not be that atrocious as far as Kickstarters go. A bunch of stuff that we're still waiting on from First Edition II had an initial delivery date of November 2014, a couple of the beasts from Monstrous Mounts that haven't even been begun to be sculpted had February 2015, and most of the New Kindred stuff has June 2015 which is drawing quite near, given that there is a lot left to do on that project.

These small delays don't overly concern me though, and the boxes of beautiful resin I have stashed in various places of my house testifies to the fact that they certainly can deliver great miniatures, but I am a bit worried by the sheer amount of stuff that is racking up in their backlog. Here's a little summary I made on another forum of the Mierce Kickstarters and where we stand today. Not sure if it's accurate, but I think it's in the ballpark.

Darklands: A World of War (Feb 2013) - 100% fulfilled
Darklands: First Edition (Oct 2013) - 80% fulfilled (almost everything is sculpted, I think there's just one or two minis remaining)
Darklands: First Edition II (Apr 2014) - 50% fulfilled (around 75% of the sculpting is done)
Darklands: Monstrous Mounts (July 2014) - 20% fulfilled (around 40% of the sculpting is done)
Darklands: New Kindreds (Oct 2014) - 0% fulfilled (around 10% of the sculpting is done)
BaneBeasts (Feb 2015) - 0% fulfilled (around 10% of the sculpting is done)
BaneBeasts II Currently running

The last couple of projects have been of smaller scale, and involve more conversions than the first three massive campaigns, so should be easier to fulfill, but I still think they're getting a bit far behind.

Szalamandra is cool but it's the only thing I'd want. Add on £3 for P&P and there's no incentive to buy. I understand it's a kickstarter and should not be considered primarily as a way to get the models cheaper, but with the amount of outstanding models I'm due (oh, and not forgetting the rulebook) it's hard to justify backing this project.

I just want to clear up my statement I made the other day about my frustrations about KS.. I am not just making a statement about mierce. I meant all KSers. I have quite a few outstanding ksers and alot of money invested in them. I have decided not to invest any more money in them until I receive the products I have pledged in. Will I invest in future KS with Mierce? Absolutely!! Their product is top of the line and I have found their customer service top notch. Hopefully I'll receive my miniatures before they do another Darklands.

Tip for anyone put of by the delays, just use your pledge money to order stuff from the last KS they did, that's what I've been doing lately (that or buying stuff that's already produced), cuts the delays a lot.

You mean, when they give you credit on the webstore, you just use it towards older products? Does that actually work? Seems like a good idea...

Yes, you can use pledge money in the store.

If there are specific deals related to a KS, you have to have put in money on that KS. So, its not a bad idea to put in a small amount on each KS so you might be able to get a deal later.

Yeah, I always pledge at least something on each of the KS, since they leave the option open to order for so long. My stuff has always been bundled together when its time to ship. I have to assume it works out well for them, since they dont lose out on the fees taken by Kickstarter and Amazon, and I'm more inclined to up my pledge later (and they don't have to provide stretch goals for the money they receive). Win-win. I pledged 40 on this one, but in the end the only thing I really wanted was Skaadi. I'll just put the rest towards a jute infantry or something.

This is the 3rd kickstarter I have funded from mierce miniatures and I am loving this company. With nearly £3000 invested in them I am very pleased with how fast they are expanding and building up the game. I have over 100 models built and ready to paint all of which are stunning. They are in the process of getting me another 200 that I ordered and I can't paint these guys fast enough before more come it. I can't wait for there next Kickstarter. They are even going to have the rules out about that time. This company is becoming more and more solid each month with double digit miniature releases for the the past few months.

Mierce Friday KS updates:

First Edtion

Wulfred
We still don't have a great deal for you here, although it's better than last time as we have some miniature images!. This project has just about run out of miniatures to sculpt...

(Now, as mentioned previously, Darklands: First Edition is close to fulfilment and so there won't be a great deal to show each week. Even so, there's still some cracking miniatures ahead - and there'll be plenty of painted miniatures to show, too, even after the project is fulfilled!)

Gesith

There's just the one miniature to show this week, from Stéphane Simon... the last of the Gesith!

The Wolfborn, we believe, are absolutely superb miniatures and we can't wait to get our hands on them. These guys - thanks to Stéphane Simon - are amongst our finest infantry warriors!

The last remaining member of the Gesith unit is Wulfred, the banner bearer (well, Fane Bearer in Angelcynn speak)...

Wulfred's almost complete... and thus, so are the Gesith! Sadly though these guys won't make it into Wave 6, but they will make it into Wave 7.

Wave 3 shipments are complete!

Wave 3 shipments are complete, bar a couple of stragglers! Huzzah!

Wave 5 and 6 shipments have begun

We have begun mixing items from Wave 6 in with shipments of Wave 5 miniatures, and so Wave 6 has begun.

We will try to get everything out as soon as we can, but there's a lot to ship - and as always we prioritise orders in date sequence; i.e., if you ordered early, you'll get your stuff sent early.

What we're saying, basically, is - please be patient! We are doing everything as fast as we can without compromising on quality.

Wave 6 items being removed on Monday

With the shipping of Wave 6 items beginning, it is time to let you know that all that ALL Wave 6 items will be removed from their parent Kickstarter categories on the Mierce Miniatures website next Monday, the 4th of May at midnight (GMT) - so you'd better get your skates on to order those Wave 6 items, because they'll be gone soon - and you'll never get them cheaper!

What's Being Removed?

You will only see these items in the webstore if you have backed this project, of course, but if you do wish to join in to grab them, simply e-mail us to request access and we'll sort it for you.

The following items will be removed from the Mierce Miniatures website on Monday:

BRYTHONIAID: Carys
BYZANTII: Equitus Durio on Foot - Equitus Durio on Horse
After May 4th, you'll have to wait until Wave 6 items are released!

If you don't purchase any Wave 6 items you'd like by May the 4th, you won't be able to purchase them again until they are released to the general public, and - depending on the miniature involved - that could be for a long while yet! Plus, they'll be at full price of course.

What are you waiting for? Grab those Wave 6 items now!

Outstanding sculpts

Here's the big list of who's sculpting what and when for Darklands: First Edition! Please bear in mind that this list may change over time, so don't take it as set in stone until the first work in progress shots appear.

Juan Navarro Pérez: There's just Unhelmed Trytheorn to do.
Stéphane Simon: Sculpting of the Wolfborn, Gesith Unit is in progress, with Egbert, Hrothgar, Cerdic and Wigstan complete, and Wulfred in progress.
Unknown: Maximus, Maximilian Schüte's Germanic Berserker.

So that's just three sculpts to go!
