Have yet to try this list. My friend HATES terminators whenever I field them as a five man squad. I have the models, so I drafted up this list using a full 10 man squad. Any thoughts?

HQ
Libby + storm bolter, Force Dome + Avenger, 103 pts

Troops
10 man tac squad
sergeant ccw, flamer, ml, Rhino, 205 pts

10 man tac squad
combi-plasma, plasma gun, ml, Rhino, 225 pts

Elites
10 man Termie squad
AC, CML, chainfist, 465 pts

I'm thinking of combat squading the first tac squad and sticking the libby with the CC oriented half in the rhino. Force Dome whenever possible to give the rhino and anything nearby the 5+ inv save, and when close enough, roast anything that comes too close and get out to assault the next turn. Terminators will be combat squaded as well and foot slogging, chainfist and CML in one with the sergeant and AC in the other, pursuing targets suited to their weapons. Any thoughts?

What army does your friend play, if you turned up to fight me with that list I would be VERY happy. I realise that it s just for fun but still you would be better taking 5 and finding the points for a LR, If he cant deal with Terminators how do you think he will deal with AV14?

He plays DE with a lot of heat- and dark-lances, based on the battleforce plus mandrakes and scourges usually taking an Archon for his HQ. I'm not 100% sure what he'd be able to bring for 1000 pts, but the battleforce is his core.

I don't currently own a land raider, but have been eyeing them for some time now. Which variant would you recommend? I like how shooty at close range the crusader is, but is the more powerful and longer ranged (but less shooty) vanilla LR a better idea?

DE has some nice AP2 weapons in CC, he should use them

You don´t want your LR to be that long ranged because it is a transport and due to its nature it has to get close anyway. Additionally you don´t get the I-debuff for assaulting troops in cover if you have a LRC or LRR due to its grenade launchers (not that this is really a matter of importance when you use termis but its a plus none the less).

Really? A DE player can't kill those termies? Venoms, Incubi, and Reavers should provide at the very least ample terminator crushing power. If your opponent lacks all of those (yeah nothing but three Reavers in the battleforce which is nothing) then they need to look at some DE lists here.

One suggestion I would make would be to put the Libby in the terminator squad with gate. I never regret it when I do that. That is of course if you don't do the land raider, but again Reavers equipped with heat lances or haywire Wyches in venoms should laugh at a LR.

He'd have to dedicate his entire army to shooting them for a turn to reliably deal with them, as he has plenty of AP 2 or 1 weapons, but they're all over the place, only one or two in a unit. So, he either has to charge them or get within squishing range of that CML to do anything to them reliably. He only has the one raider, which he hides because I can pop it with just about any unit (once blew off his dark lance with the libby's storm bolter!) I just don't trust GoI not to eat one member, and I'm not sure what happens if they scatter onto an obstacle. It seems a bit risky to me.
