Hello Dakka,

I've been looking at the vastness that is the 40k universe and I wanted to see if there were enough models to make all of my infantry for my Imperial Guard force to be Native American. I'm talking traditional Iroquois/Cherokee to be specific. I found some good models from Warlord Games (first pics) and a VERY good style from Gripping Beast Saga Skraelings (Second Pic and a video of a paint style that I would enjoy of the Skraelings). I was wondering if Dakka had any suggestions on models that were comparable to GW standard Cadian models. I play an infantry based IG regiment and would like my models to have decent variety. Any help would be appreciated! I'm not very worried on having some guys with melee weapons in the mix, I would prefer most of them to have rifles and to avoid bows (unless you guys don't think my opponents would mind too much). I appreciate the input!

I can't remember who produced them, but I saw some fantastic looking Wierd WWII Indian soldiers not that long ago. I think they were called Dog Soldiers or something to that effect. I don't know if that's the direction you'd like to go or not, but it's on the table now.

It's an ugly planet. A bug planet.

You could try Ratskins from the Specialist Game Necromunda. Might be difficult to get in large quantities though.

I must say, the Ratskins look fantastic and very similar to what I was going for! If I could find some of them to stand in and be the special weapon models (I can get tons of the standard rifle users from other stores).

Edit: After looking at the ones on the GW site instead of some of the better pictures off of google, I see that the Ratskin models have the right feel to them, but not exactly what I'm going for.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"
