Interesting, but will anyone read a comic about Judge Dredd?

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

Pity, I really dug Dredd. I was really hoping it would take off as a franchise.

I loved that movie. I wish it would have done better. I'll definitely pick this up.

Aww, so I guess they aren't making it into a trilogy then? =(

I'dve loved to see the pro democracy activists making it onto the screen.

I indeed thought it was a good movie as well. My one real complaint was them kind of making up an excuse to not make the cute girl wear her helmet.

We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Cassandra Anderson never wore one in the comics, so that was fine.

I'd be disappointed if there was no sequel. I thought it was critically well received and guessed the numbers were good from the fact that it was #1 here for a good few week.

@Red - good find on Judge Minty, I was wondering where that went. Is that the full thing? (SOS for the laziness - on a slow phone connection).

Personally Dredd was my favourite movie of all time, greatest hero of them all I say.

I loved it when Anderson said 'i'm 99% sure its the guy,' and Dredd says '99% isnt good enough.' What a guy.

I will read the out of that comic.

I did really hope though it would kick off from the film though. Dredd cant get a sequel but bloody high school musical and hunger games can get sequels.

At first I saw "Dredd Sequel coming" and was like Yeah!

Then I saw the "in comic book form" and was so meh I didn't even bother to insert the images macros that would normally go in a post like this.

So has a Dredd movie squel been ruled out completly then? If so thats a real pity as it was an awsome film.

I believe so and I concur it's a shame.

Not enough box office receipts unfortunately... though it appears to be doing well on DVD.

Given the after-movie praise and buzz, I'm surprised there won't be a sequel, because I think the movie was poorly advertised and given a very short cinema run.

It's a tragedy, it blew both avengers and batman out of the water for me.

I saw the new Dredd movie on DVD recently - and I have to say that I thought it was better than the Stallone one , and Carl Urban did play a good role, and yet I actually preferred the Stallone one.

I've never been a fan of 2000AD, but I always liked Judge Dredd, so although I liked the 'slightly more lower tech/near future feel of the new film, the futuristic & over the top approach of the Stallone version just seemed more appropriate.

Anyhow, can't say I'm too bothered that there isn't a sequel, but I would have watched one I guess.

Why can't we just have Judge Dredd Vs Judge Death?

Like most people, I'm super bummed it didn't take off as a trilogy...but the first film wasn't advertised very well, and most people don't know much (if anything) about Dredd on this side of the pond. I wasn't surprised by the poor box office sales, but I told everyone I could to see it when it was in theaters. I do plan on picking up the comic, though.
