This is the first time I ever decided to try some different techniques and wanted to try my hand at OSL. So what do you all think of it? Did it come out decent and if not what could i do to improve it?

Nice and subtle. Only thing is maybe make the glow a slight touch darker than the source. Otherwise you've nailed it.

This is fantastic! and awesome for a first try. I completely agree that the amount of glow doesn't over power the model, its a nice subtle glow.

OSL often tends to be the focus point (or atleast eye drawing) on quite a few models, whether they intend that I don't know, but I am very impressed with this take.

Maybe add a final white highlight to the gun, just to bring it above the brightness of the glow on the body of the model.. but honestly, it's really good as is !
