Well that's pretty bull.

and all 3 of your options are relatively weak against tau.

id say spam as many venoms and raiders as you can and focus fire one threat at a time. missile drones are nice but they are still BS2.

Tau still have problems with threat overload

Show them the FAQ, it is just as official as the Codex and BRB, Tell them they are doing it wrong.

We all just find it easier to stick to brb and codexs find it easier then hunting down ever rule change. why don't gw just print a book with changes in it.

Probably because they wouldn't make any money if they had to reprint and give updated copies or no one would buy updated books with the same info. printing out a FAQ isn't all that hard. (though if you had the ipad version it auto updates)

and besides that it is your own group so play as you will. my suggestions in a few posts above.

Insist on using FAQs. They are pretty vital to keeping the game balanced (relatively).

Alternatively, insist he use actual Missile Drone models. Do not accept proxies or conversions.

Actually, look at dungeons ad Dragons 3.5. i think GW might be quite surprised by how many people WOULD by a 2.0 book. It makes sense. Get all theincidental wordings out, put designer notes in, addresssing intent directly in it. Of course people would then cry about the "way GW is making errors on purpose to sell more books". cause thats what gamers do.

But i think it is true that peple might invest in a 2.0 and they CERTAINLy could do a limited run of them and sell out.

I play Tau and I play by the FAQ so the armies you're playing against aren't even legal man. You are getting destroyed by something completely unrealistic and as such you're not going to find a way to play against something that is so severely broken.

The rules change all the time and so many different FAQ that its hard to find all the new rules gw keeps putting out plus all the changes that trunys use and other gameing groups that i can't stay up to date. and not to mention all the ways rules are interpreted. that's its easier to say we go by the brb and codexs only. Also trying to find all wd issues with rules in them

You're on the internet right now, and they only put rule changes on exactly one place.
frogy27 wrote:

Those aren't rules, ignore them.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Its legal by the codex

But the FAQ is an amendment to the codex, and so it still affects the game.

Yes... and GW just got rid of it so that at least one army could not be played in a "broken" way. Also, how do you over-power Eldar (not counting being good)?

Don't bother with this thread. The OP has a long history of trolling and posting about a problem with some ridiculous "house rule" and then insisting stubbornly that they won't change the house rule. For example, long threads insisting that there's a rule that if GW doesn't make a kit for a unit in a codex you're not allowed to use that unit. Nothing you can say will ever work, so save yourself the frustration and just ignore the troll.

Also, the OP's trolling isn't even correct. The ipad version of the codex always said "missile drones are Broadsides-only", the fact that it wasn't in the paper copy was just a typo that the FAQ corrected.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Well if you play the full game with current up to date rules then they dont get overall access to missile drones.

they may seem op if you chose to ignore the FAQ Amendments.

But that is your choice. and im going to tell you even with all that st 7 ap 4, spaming venoms and ravangers? should do the trick by killing off all there troops as soon as possible. + darklance/ blasters for the crisis suits. unless you can ID the HQ crisis suit ignore it for the most part. including any riptides.

if possible KILL ALL DA MARKERLIGHTS

Well this is 6th edition so the only legal armies in your group are Daemons, Chaos Marines, Tau Empire and Dark Angels.
