That's the million-dollar question with Quickshade/dip. I've seen pics of dipped models with such immaculate application that you'd never know they were dipped at all. I've seen others that are nasty, blotchy messes. How much you need depends on the look you're going for, the amount of texture on the model, the colors you're using, and what (if anything) you're doing to remove excess. If you Google around a bit, you'll find a ton of different procedures people have developed for the results they want. The official suggestion from
AP is to dip and then shake off the excess (into a spare box or something you don't mind messing up), or else to apply carefully with a brush. But I've read of several people attaching their mini to the head of a large nail and then spinning that nail in a power drill. And one guy I found didn't like that method, so he attached his minis to a string (attached to a foot? I dunno...) and spun them around like a lasso outside.
Personally, I've just applied a generous coat with a brush and then tried to soak up the excess as well as possible. But I find that only works acceptably on models with a lot of texture to grab dip. I've not been satisfied with my results on smoother figs. Maybe if I tried that lasso thing...
3. How do you clean your brushes after using it? Getting abit tired of having to buy some cheap brushes and just throwing them away after im done with them.
You want mineral spirits for that. Water or alcohol won't do it.
