Black, White, Orange, Red and Yellow.... Personally I think the shades of each of those are up to your discretion, have fun with them, don't try and live up to an expectation of what you see from 'Eavy Metal.

But words of caution I have for you for your brother Primarchs are strong of will, of thought and of action.

Bleached Bone.
Black armor is notoriously hard to paint, and there's two ways to go about shading it. (three actually)Greys or Blues. Greys tend to give you a duller appearance, where Blues will give you a more faux shiny appearance like 'comic book' type black armor. Best done with zenithal airbrush shading.... But I digress. The third way is not to shade it, but to gloss coat the black parts of the armor so light will bounce off wherever it's coming from. Actually, it's a pretty good look.
The good news is, because of the amount of bones, flames and other detail, you can get away with almost not shading the black parts at all. Get good at blending for the flames and they'll look spectacular. One of the best LotD armies I have seen, the guy did a great job on the bones, metal and all his dudes looked like they were standing in flames. For the black parts, he just hit them with glossy 'ArdCoat at the end.

Very nice. I love the lava bases. But see what I mean? There's so much contrasting color details with the bone bits and flames you don't need to go hog wild trying to get the black parts to look "realistic" like you would on a mostly-black armored model like say Black Templars. Personally, I like minimal shading on the black and hitting it with gloss varnish at the very end, but in the case of Legion of the Damned shiny black might not be a good look. Know what I mean? Dull black suggests it's "charred" from the flames and a better route to go might be some selective chipping showing metal underneath to make it look battle worn.
