Subject: Denua's Gearhead Ork'z / and Krons.. 6-Jul-17 Stormboyz!
So when I was back in Japan about 2 and a half years ago I started something....
Something BIG...
Due to me being military and having these things called Deployments that eat up way to much time... Sadly I only got so far before it was time for me to Move. Where to some might ask?...Well pretty much all over the dam world it would seem.
Seattle, San Diego, Thailand (Wedding) And finally Spain. Rota area to be precise.
And due to that, going to a school for some more training, getting married and getting a house to live in...well. Half of my creation I started was left behind while I was in San Diego with a friend. And was suppose to be shipped to me months ago...like 7-8 of them
Well any way let us not let that be a hindrance for things to come...as it is finally in the mail and on it's way back to me and will once again join it's other half on the work bench.
So what I wanted was a Ork Battle Fortress.
But not just any would do. I wanted to be able to get the most use possible out of it. A Battle Fortress is nice...for nice big games...but what else...scenery? what about a functional model for smaller 2k games... so My Idea hit me I'll have a Battle Fortress the can split in half and be able to use half of it as a Battle Wagon if I want...
So with that the Pics for Japan... Sorry for to poorish quality but I think it gives a clear enough image to see everything.
Starting Off with the rough shape.
Test fitting the Kill Kannon Sponsons and the Dozer Blades/Death Rolla.
Work on the back engine began.
A few Pics of how the two half's can split apart.
Saddly this was the state I had left it in when I had to move from Japan.
So Im here in Spain settled in and have began and finished a number of other projects.
During witch time I have been trying to get my friend to send me the stuff I left him when I was in San Diego. And finally had enough of starring at the back half being all unfinished and decided to put some work in to it.
So here are some updated pics of the back half of the Battle Fortress.
I decided that I wanted to put different tracks on it and while I had it open I also put in a gangway and some droping wires as a passage for the aft grot sponsons.
I picked up a new Deathrolla and built the kill kannon sponsons up as well as the elevated platform.
So that's how it stands as of now...
The Good news is I should be getting the front half tomorrow.
The more good news is I will be having 30days off from work starting in a few days...
The bad news is I don't know if I'll be able to get any work done on this at all during that period as I will be having shoulder surgery on my right shoulder and yes I'm right handed...We can only wait and see...

First, looks AWESOME! As a past 40K player who focused on orks, that looks amazing. Please finish it so that I can see it in all its orky glory.
Second, good luck with the shoulder. Joint surgery sucks big time. I had to have knee surgery after an evil rope swing and a boulder decided to gang rape me! Never been on a rope swing since and boulders are still scowled at when I see them.
The Orks are the pinnacle of creation. For them, the great struggle is won. They have evolved a society which knows no stress or angst. Who are we to judge them? We Eldar who have failed, or the Humans, on the road to ruin in their turn? And why? Because we sought answers to questions that an Ork wouldn't even bother to ask! We see a culture that is strong and despise it as crude.

First all my surgery is done and I am doing alright albeit only one functioning arm atm. And it's my left one so things go a bit slower for me now.
But on to more important things...
Well I got my box in the mail with all my stuff the day before surgery. And on my daughters Birthday as well, so aside from pulling my long lost ork hoard out of the box nothing else got done before surgery.
Then I got home and a day of rest and to work I began...
Well pretty much all of the front needed reworked.
I stared with changing the treads on the chimera tracks.
Re mounted the front tires.
I replaced the other deff rolla with a more killy looking one (this thing rocks). So I had to redo the mounting an I magnetized the whole thing as well as the ram shield.
The turret needs a bit of work yo make it well more orky lookin.
Still got to remount the dozer blades and the grot sponsons.
one that shows how the deff rolla and ram are magnetized.
So working with your wrong hand is slow...Plus potentially dangerous if working with sharp objects and you have kids that like to try scare you. As you are working with said sharp objects...
Needles to say, I ended up cutting myself. Luckily it wasn't too bad, but there was a lot of blood...that caused the wife to come asking what happened when she discovered a drop of blood that I missed in the bathroom when I was cleaning, after patching myself back together.
But on to the show.
I got the new tracks remounted and put the extra armor plating on them. (tacked on the grot sponsons to get the positioning done)
Stared to mount the dozer blades test fitting. (need to add some more structural support to them but I want to have them magnetized for transport etc..)
Here it is with the back mounted on.
\
Here's a few close up's of where the two halves join up together.
Still need to add some extra sheets of metal here and there. Got to finish the armor to the sponsons, the deck, and the back, add some platform to the ladder for access to the back platform, make the Battle wagon turret more Orky looking, and add some thing for the grot rockets to launch from..
.hmmm think that's about it....
unless some one thinks of anything else to bring up
I finally got some diamond plating in the mail that's the right size...took forever to find and figure out the right scale. It should make it look pretty good when it's all finished.
Well I managed to get a bit of work done over the last week on my Battle Fortress, Time for a update.
I got the dozer blades mounted and the are magnetized for easy removal.
I got the Kannon looking more Orky... still a bit left to do on it though.
I did some work on the aromor plating all around, still a lot to do, not to mention the rivets
And I got the Grot Rokkets mounted and magnetized.
Sorry this Pic sucks some what
A few parting shots till next time
Well that's it for now.
As far as what's left, I have a few walls to put along the side to keep them Grotz from falling off, placement of the grot krew and detail i.e.. extra armor and rivets lots and lots of rivets.
Though not to much has been done on the Battle Fortress. I did make a whole lot of rivets, but that's it for the beast atm.
I did get progress done on a few other things though.
I got my Mega Dread, Deff Dreads, and Kanz all base coated and ready to paint once my arm is out of the sling.
I also got tired of looking at my case with all my boyz in it that needed some repair and proper bases...So as a result whole lot of my boyz are now on thier bases... I do have a lot of touchup to do on them. (Their trip to Spain in the mail wasn't to kind to them and a lot had to be repaired.)
Two War Bosses
Some Nobz
Mega Nobz...they are going to need a lot of touch up work done
Flash Gitz
And a bunch of boyz
Well that's it for now, got to call it a night now
Well it's been a bit took a break, went on a trip etc. life goes on.
But I have been keeping busy...sorry no riveting has been done on the Battle Fortress yet.
Instead I have been taking some time off from that and painting a bit. .Arms feeling better a bit and I had a few things that I wanted to get some paint on.
So with out further ado...
My magnetized Dakka Jet / Blitza Bommer
And I got this guy all decked out...Hope ya all like...
Well that's it for now...going to finish up my Deff Dreads and then probably my Nob Bikers next..
@ SelvaggioSaky Thanks man glad ya like the colors. I was going for a red scheme " cuz they go fasta" but I didn't want it bright (wanted to go for a dark and dirty look to them) I think I got what I was aiming for. Though I do like your orange too... Damn fine job on your boys I must say.
@ gvaldes10 Sorry the ones I am doing atm are for me...But once I got all my boyz all prettied up, I plan on starting some commissions so maybe in the future
Well I did a bit of work. Got my 2 Deff Dreads all finished. And when I looked at my Mega Dread and Kanz...Maybe it was me being a lazy grot or something but I never quite finished em (missed the fine detailing some checks, wires lookie lenses etc.) well I finished them up. Will post the pic's tomorrow.

Wow, this is some of the coolest Ork work I have seen on Dakka. That giant Deff Dread is too cool, I would love the chance to play against an army with models like this in it! Keep it up!
