What exactly happens if the Mawloc deep strikes on top of the bastion?
Can it happen?
Would the bastion be removed from play?
Can the unit on top be hit with the attack?
Let me know what you think,

To cut it short - the rules don't cover this.
HIWPI - reduce the scatter to move the Mawloc outside the Bastion.

The bastion is not a unit or a model so it can not be moved by the Mawlock. (I think it does take the Str 6 hit as it is hit like a vehicle, not that a Str 6 hit can do anything to an AV 14 bastion).

Interesting, Yeah i looked through every relevant FAQ, the tyranid codex, and dissected all of the rules of the bastion, buildings, and battlements.
Completely agree, the rules don't cover this

Fluff - comes from a hole in the ground, actual gameplay - deepstrikes onto the board.

The way I'd play it, is it just arrives on top similarly to the landing pad. Even if the mode of DS is tunneling its still a DS i don't think vertical placement matters as it is a piece of terrain as long as the base fits, the model should be allowed to DS on top just like a squad of daemons or something. Correct me if I'm wrong lol

Buildings really should be classified as impassible terrain, as they are not clear, or Difficult terrain. I am not sure if they specifically are classified as Impassible, but this classification makes the most sense.

On another note how would other fortifications work, Such as the aegis defense line, would you go minimum distance? Would the defense line move like any other model? Or is it a mishap?

A defense line is terrain (Difficult terrain), and not a model.

Pretty much, you would probably have to use WMS in that case, unless you can balance the Drop pod on the ADL.

Strange situation.
The rules don't say that from the ground or from the sky is any different as to the deepstriking rules.
The rules say place the model, and the top of a bastion is difficult terrian, even though the bastion (I agree with DR) as a whole should be impassible.
I'd say the Malwoc is placed on top of the bastion and forces models off the top of it if there isn't room, causing falling damage, then it would have to fall to get off or burrow again.

I agree with this, but why would you have to fall to go back into reserve? I don't believe there's anything that says they have to be on the ground to go back... Especially if the can DS onto the top of the building.

No no, you mis-read. He would have to fall to get off the top of the bastion or burrow.
He can't go into the bastion because he is a MC. He can't move off the bastion because there isn't room. He'd have to use the falling rules to get off the top.
Alternatively he could burrow, becuase it say remove the model from the table, and it's placement doesn't restrict that.

In the FAQ, will post in a minute or so Here Q: Can a unit deploy onto battlements by Deep Strike? (p95) A: A unit may attempt to Deep Strike onto battlements; however, if after determining scatter, the entire unit cannot deploy onto the battlements (for example if several models would land on the battlements and others would have to land on the ground next to the building, and thus out of coherency) then the unit mustroll on the Deep Strike Mishap Table.

That doesn't apply to the Malwoc as it can deploy on the battlement and doesn't have any other models in its unit. All of the Malwoc's unit would be atop the battlement, and WMS would be used if the physical model could fall off causing damage.
That doesn't say 100% of the base must be on the battlement.

You are right about the unit, it does say onto the battlements, I would argue that if your base does not fit onto the battlements you mishap though.

Same as many other mishap, if part of the base is within 1 inch of another model, part of the base is on impassable terrain etc. If you are saying it is ok because most of the base is on the battlement, then its ok because most of my base is on the table/not on impassible terrain/not within 1inch of your model etc etc etc

Those rules specify that the model must be fully on the table or if any part of the base is within 1" of another model(which for the Malwoc ignores due to TFtD).
The requirements for DS on a battlement is the entire unit (not model) must be able to be on the battlement.
Are you saying that I can't DS on a ruined wall because the base wont fit on the wall?
Again there is nothing in the rules that prevents a single model unit DSing onto a Battlement.
