Center Stage Miniatures is, together with Frog God Games, running a Kickstarter to fund the production of a range miniatures from the Tome of Horrors Complete (an enormous monster book compatible with the Pathfinder and Swords & Wizardry RPG's). Looks to be a bunch of fun, rather obscure creatures, in most cases not found elsewhere. Flumphs, Vegepygmies and a Froghemoth, for example.

There are no greens (EDIT: well, there are now; see the next post by Serpine), but from what I can tell the list of sculptors sounds pretty solid: Tim Prow, Jason Wiebe, Nicolas Genovese, Dave Summers and Drew Williams.

They're also doing a 'daily-stretch-goal-thing'. For example, if $26,000 can be achieved today (we're at $24,500 now), two minis (the Inphidian Rattler and the Red Jester) will be added for free to all pledges at $100 and above. As I've understood it, there will be new such goals each day for the duration of the campaign.

EDIT: Only 20 hours left now, been going very strong at the end here!

Having unlocked more goals there are now 43 different metal figures involved in the project, 3 of which are addons and the rest of which are tier selections.

<Cut out the image of the concept art since the OP has it now, also edited some of the other numbers and images in this post based on latest info>

Kicktraq latest low end projections should unlock at least another 4 figures in the remaining 9 days, which get added to the main stretch goal tier automatically. This doesn't account for end project bursts, etc, so there could be far more.

There are a few greens complete or in progress now as well:

not interested in metals, but some of the designs, like the undead stuff are pretty cool. The armored snake monster is pretty cool looking too. I'm always a fan of armored non-humans.

Conceptually this is right up my alley.

However I'm not a fan of metals and like the rest of you I need to see a whole lot more if they want me to commit.

I hear you bro. I'm taking a chance on this one as I already backed their Demons and Devils Kickstarter but won't get my stuff before this one ends. However, we have seen greens and finished minis of almost all the demons and devils (they were reviewed here for example), I'm kind of digging this old school style, and am using that as my benchmark for what I hope these will look like. If anything, I think/hope these will look better as they seem to have some pretty good sculptors aboard (a few of the demons and devils were so-so to be honest).

Also, I'm kind of going through an old school phase with my RPG interests right now (Dungeon Crawl Classics, Adventurer Conquerer King, Swords & Wizardry), so I have a hard time resisting this...

Let's not equivocate here. This project smells of unwashed arse. I guess it isn't as smeggy as Iron Wind Metal's Kickstarter but it's damned close.

Seeing this project makes me wish WotC would just get off their damned asses and make a dungeon crawl skirmish game. Something along the lines of Space Hulk/HeroQuest with a campaign aspect tossed in.

Thanks for that link, it's helpful to see what they've done. But, as they are another person who is making a new campaign before the old has shipped, that is another strike against it :-/

But as you say, very old school vibe, so it's interesting in that regard.

LOL. Well, yeah, I guess unwashed arse very much like other acquired tastes is not for everyone, eh?

Seriously, though, that green doesn't inspire me to tear out my wallet and throw it at them either. But they did state that it was a very early WIP, so here's hoping that it gets sexied-up a bit. There's still more than two weeks left on this KS, we'll see if they manage to toss in some more greens.

I know, and I cautioned them against launching before the first one was fulfilled. However, the redeeming feature here is that almost everything is done in the Demons and Devils project, we are waiting on the last couple of sculpts, and it kind of makes sense that they want to do stuff in parallel (and I guess I believe them when they say that this new KS will not cause any further delays of the first one). Here is a summary of the demon and devil greens, and here is the latest update we got today with yet another finished sculpt. We are now waiting on three sculpts in the Demons and Devils project, two are supposed to be finished this week, but the third is very, very big and it sounds like it might take a bit longer...

Trodax, can you please review those links? The first appears to be pointing to a backer only update, and the second to the comments page.

Nice idea, needs more proven sculpting track record. Which means either an established model maker, the name and portfolio of an artist sculpting or simply a crap-ton of already made greens.

Here is a link to a compiled image of most of the figures in their prior large project, and one to the latest figure for it.

For this one the sculptors we know about having been assigned at this point are:
- -
Drew Williams - Iron Cobra and Jaculi
Dave Summers - Black Dracolisk
Nicolas Genovese - Eye Killer
Jason Wiebe - Al 'Miraj/Carbuncle/Salt Drake/Frost Drake
Tim Prow - Demodands (3)/Devas (2)/Crypt Thing
Patrick Keith - Forlarren
Gary Morley - Red Jester

Jason Wiebe and Tim Prow are certainly proven. Nicolas Genovese has shown solid talent. I'm not familiar with the other guys though.

I backed for mostly one of everything in the demons/devils KS, and am overall rather pleased. The only figures I didnt really care for from the first KS were the overly muscled demons like Moloch and the pit fiend... their muscles just looked too ropey and tacked on. Some I didnt care for the poses (like the sitting barbed devil or the glabrezu holding the egg), but the sculpts themselves were rather solid.

I think it will also help that most of these creatures are non-human. We're always more critical of humanoid sculpts since getting it even slightly wrong can throw the figure solidly into uncanny valley territory. I'm in for the $100 level plus 20 $5 add ons (and the froghemoth), which really seems better than the $200 at this level. I guess I'm willing to risk getting a B sculpt of something likle a flumph if it means actually getting a mini that would never otherwise exist. I dont see anyone else cranking out the molds for the beholder's lawful good stupid cousins who travel on fart clouds.

Thanks Serpine, I really fubbed those links up! Did not notice that the update I linked to was 'Backer Only', and I really think it's just a mistake that it is; why would you keep pictures of the minis a secret?

Dave Summers seems pretty well liked from what I've gathered. It seems he did a lot of work for Dark Sword Miniatures, like this Golden Dragon of Chaos for example (since he's doing the Dracolisk, it's good to see he's done fine looking dragons before). He also did Center Stage Miniatures first mini, which was in fact a Dracolisk.

A bunch of new stretch goals have been posted, going all the way up to $87,400. As all of these are included in the $200 pledges, these will consist of sizeable piles of stuff if we get that far.

They have shown the green of the Al'Miraj from Jason Wiebe. Technically there are also in-progress shots of the demodands but they will apparently be further along soon so I'm not linking them for now.

< I've moved the image link to the Al'Miraj to my earlier second post in the thread so things are more together>

Okie dokie, the $35K stretch goal has now been solidly passed and the Froghemoth and Axe Beak are in! Closing in on the $40K stretch goal now, and there will be an extra frogman thrown in there (I'll just update the OP with the graphics for this).

Also, there's now an extra bonus at the $200 pledge level in the form of an E-Z Dungeon Deluxe Edition download. I'm not really familiar with these, but it seems you can print them out and make dungeon terrain; it looks pretty nifty. Full update is here.

They've posted an update with more completed greens. The eye killer is much improved from the prototype. The demodands are unfortunately accurate to their source material. I've updated the second post in this thread to point directly to the current ones.

They've added the option of getting the demons and devils from their previous KS at a discounted price to anyone that pledges at least $100 on this one. However, that will be handled separately via PayPal after this KS ends, so does not count towards achieving stretch goals etc. Anyway, a nice opportunity for anyone who missed their first KS to grab a few old school bad guys. Full details are here.

Alright, $40K has now been passed, which added the Retch Hounds (two minis) and the Basidirond for free to all $200 level pledges (they're available for swapping at lower levels), and two Tsathar (frogmen) were added to all pledges at $100 and above (I'll edit the OP to put these in). New stretch goals ahead at $44,500 (Jack O'Lantern) and $47,500 (Inphidian, Inphidian Priest and Foo Dog)!

Also, we've got two more minis in thanks to some very high pledge levels (these minis are now free at the $200 level). First, the $750 'Choose your monster' backer went with the Nuckalavee, a nightmarish horse-rider monstrosity. Secondly, the $1500 'Design your own monster' backer came up with the Pitfall Spider, a spider-centipede hybrid. Evidently, Tome of Horror backers are a freaky bunch of guys and gals!

Last of all, a new add-on ($15) has been thrown in; the Greater Basilisk:

They've added WiP greens for the Demilich, Dark Creeper, and Crypt Thing.

Also a modified variation of this (in resin) will now be included with The Works tiers:

The $200 pledge level is starting to look like a really good deal with this purple worm and all the other stuff thrown in. Only five days left now!

Only 3 days to go now on this KS! It's been going kind of slow, but picked up yesterday and we're now very close to the $47,500 stretch goal; the Jack O'Lantern is included in the $100 and $200 levels, and there is a new bonus stretch goal for a Stone Roper at $51,200 (I'll update the OP). I am very excited to see what kind of boost this will get in the last days now! The $200 pledge level is already quite nice, but it's got the potential to become a massive deal.

We've got some early WIP's of the Tsathar. At this point, only two are included (in the $100 and $200 levels), but it was hinted that the other three might be thrown in as a some kind of bonus goal. I like frogmen!

Just after the three day left point a Lurker Above and Four-Armed Gargoyle have now been added to this kickstarter, bringing the total to 47 figures (8 small, 31 medium, 6 large, 2 huge), two pdfs, and a shirt on the $200 tiers (before factoring in addon credit for trading in a pdf and/or shirt).

Yeah, those last two minis were a very pleasant surprise (they came in because some crazy cat put down for a double Seasoned Selector pledge). I'll update the OP; check out the amount of stuff included in the $200 pledge now! I'm still hoping for more, though; my favorites are probably the large and huge minis at $79,500+.

Only 68 hours to go now!

Alright, with 40 hours to go it's update time! We're now passed $55K, which means that the Stone Roper, Korred, Elven Dog and Kamadan are all included in $200 level pledges (Stone Roper is also included at the $100 level). A bunch of new add-ons have been dropped (Fire Drake, Splinter Drake, Flail Snail), and the stretch goals have been slightly reshuffled.

I'll update the image in the OP to show what's now included in the $200 level and these new add-ons. As for stretch goals, there's now a bonus goal at $59,200 for the Solifugid and after that are the following:

Can they make the Gorbel? It's a beholder, which WotC now owns the rights to (from TSR). There's a reason it and a few other classic D&D monsters aren't in Pathfinder.

Have they crossed their "Ts" and dotted their "Is", so to speak?

I'm pretty sure the project should be cool on this front. Center Stage Miniatures are doing the minis on a license from Frog God Games, who have the right to publish rules for these creatures. All the minis represent creatures in the Tome of Horrors Complete book by FGG; the artwork is even straight out of that book.
