Hi!
After poking around the search on here I found no area where people could tell awesome stories about awesome happenings.
So I made this. The purpose of this thread is to talk about some the most awesome 40k moments in your personal experience.
I'll begin.
I was playing a game of 40k earlier today, I was playing Orks, my brother was playing Chaos Space Marines.
My full health Warboss charged and challenged his full health Daemon Prince. I don't know what his Daemon Prince had, but my Warboss had Mega armor.
Obviously the Daemon Prince (Int 8) attacked first, dealing 1 wound to my Warboss. Then I attacked back with my power claw. To hit I rolled 2 fives and 4 sixes.
To wound I failed only one wound. With AP 2 my Power Claw pierced his armor leaving on his 5+ invunerable save. He rolled, got one 5.
In a single turn my warboss slew his Daemon Prince. Turns out Tuska Daemon Slayer isn't very good at his job.

Had a 5-man suicide Vanguard Vet squad heroic intervention in front of a stompa in a 4k apoc game. They were armed with meltabombs and plasma pistols. They charge in, and all fail with their meltabombs... All but one. That one meltabomb then proceeds to roll more 6's than Rending Pony, destroying the Stompa and then on the final damage chart (to determine the explosion radius) I roll a 1. The stompa was destroyed, no explosion and the 30 boyz and Gazy stomp out, proceed to slaughter all 5 vets with shooting. It was a good game when 225 points of vanguard destroy 600+ points of armor.

I remember a Doubles game in 5 ed, my Orks and my little bro's nids up against flame-heavy Guard and Crimson Fists. My two units of Trukkboys on the right flank, 20+ shootaboyz and Lootas on the left. My Bro's nids are pretty much all Genestealers, and a Carnifex in a Spore, so he doesn't set up at all. The Guard player took left flank, and the 'fists took the right. The Inperials took first turn.
Two turns later, Kantor and his Sternguard drop in in a Droppod, and my litthe brother's Nids outflank and deepstrike allaround him. One group of Trukkboyz vets out of their trukk, and the assaults begin! My Trukkboyz assault Kantor, along with around 30 stealers. The Carnifex decides to pop a nearby Rhino, and got stomped by 5 Sternguard with combiweapons and powerfists. After a round of combat, Kantor and 2 sternguard are left, 8 Genestealers are left, and my Trukkboys are down to 4 boyz and a Nob.
Next turn rolls by, and one of my Trukks is blasted apart, while I decide to Tankshock Kantor's squad. We had a brief discussion, and deecided to trat the entire assault as 1 unit!! Some of the luckiest dicerolling I've ever done later, and an Ork Nob, 4 Genestealers, Kantor and one Sternguard are killed!! My Trukk is popped by a Sternguard, and kareens into the second Sternguard squad, killing two and then plowing into the Mycetic spore nearby, exploding and taking out another handfull of sternguard.
That one Trukk killed more units than anything else the entire day in that one Tankshock!!

Im sorry, WHAT? a fething trukk runs through combat, kills friendlies and enemies, goes squish, in his death throes the driver guns the engine, crushes another handful of stern and dies in a great ball of fiery death? This has to be the best example of ork badassery I've heard of. Every time I have a tank shock they either move outta the way or my land raider gets death or glory'd by a chainfist

Just yesterday my 10 Sternguard were caught in combat with a Bloodthirster with a Tactical combat squad. Of course I lost, and failed both leadership tests. He decided to deny me an objective and chase the Tacticals, allowing my Sternguard to fall back. Next turn the Bloodthirster kills the last tacticals.
Then I shoot him with 16 hellfire rounds. Most hit, then almost all wound. He only passed 3 saves (and they were 3s as well). Then he proceeded to fail like 7 4+ FNP rolls. 8 marines kill a greater daemon in one turn of shooting.
I won that game. Turns out Honour Guard tear Daemons to bits!

I was at a tournament in the LA area. The third round I faced a guy who told me he was going to win and he wouldnt consider it a win unless he wiped me from the board. He was a very tough, tournament player who i would challenge anyone to get along with for more than two hours. Just an @hole. Last shot of the last round of the game, I fired a las cannon across the board at an obscured Land raider, blowing it to bitz and winning the game. It was awesome.

Well my own most awesome moment at a 40k tournament was about 8 years ago when I had a much better paying job and a little extra money to burn. I live in a college town where there is this strip bar called Juicers and I paid this co-ed that worked there $85 to come with me to a tournament in her sluttiest dress and roll my dice for me.
I had her wait out in my car until the last minute and called her up right before the first game started. The reaction when she came in the store was, well hard to describe lol.
During the second game she started acting just a bit too over the top and I got kicked out of the tournament for causing a distraction. It was kind of worth it though, I am a fing legend at that store.

I have many, so here is one of them...
Back in 5th edition, 7 Gretchin vs 5 Terminators (standard load out). The gretchin roll 7 shots at the termies with 5 actually connecting 4 of which caused wounds... and to my surprise 3 of them actually fall! Seeing that gork & mork were on my side, and cause it would be funny, i assaulted the survivors with my Gretchin. After all was said & done 6 Gretchin remained while both remaining Terminators were taken out!
An absolute fluke with the dice rolls, no doubt! But not too shabby for the weakest Ork unit in the codex!

A 5th edition game at my FLGS led to me playing a two on two game with some people I had never met before. One was a loud mouth that thought that his C:SM could win against anyone, and the other a Tau player who was a little off his rocker. I was playing Blood Angels and my team mate was playing Dark Angels. During the set up we rolled for three objectives, two of which were place close to the deployment zones of the Space Marine and Tau players. As the game came to its final round it was a close tie between us. I was still new to playing Blood Angels at the time and take the blame for the fact that we were tied. But as the game was coming to an end I decided to tank shock the Tau player in order to, at the very least, contest the objective that his fire warriors were posted on. In the resulting tank shock the fire warriors rolls were abysmal, failing the for death and glory, as well as the leadership roll. Finally, to add insult to injury, the fall back roll took the entire squad off the table. After all was said and done, my partner and I came out the winners of the game and after the game painted a blood drop on his Land Raider for the maneuver.

I was trying out the CSM Codex when it first came out and took the Sorcerer as my HQ. I loaded him out to be the spell spamming guy and as a little added, though unneeded, bonus I gave him a plasma pistol. Turn 1 comes and I try to use Boon of Mutation and roll 12.
FML moment, but whatever.
Feeling sore about the Perils I suffered, I shot the plasma pistol at some Scouts who were hiding behind a wall and I rolled a 1. I fail my 3++ and died. Haven't touched CSM since.

Job well done lad. I became a legend just by having a girlfriend though. Kinda sad.
Anyway. My favorite about awesome things happened in my games was when I brought my wych cult list into a game in 6th ed against an IG gunline. I was expecting to be butchered. Well my succubus survived dozens of lasgun shots, a venom exploding when she was in it, plasmaguns, autocannons and even two direct hits from a manticore. She never lost a single wound. I ended up winning the game. Bad luck from my opponents part.

2. Destroy baneblade.
3. Get Apocalyptic Explosion result.

5. Sergeant goes on to kill at least 2 more Leman Russ tanks with powerfist before getting shot to death.
