I think the Tau have the most potential to introduce new species in the game.

How about some more cool Vespid strains...
A big chinious bug...
A "Royal" caste...
New flying bugs...

What do you guys think?

I think GW should release a Codex: Xeno Mercenaries that would cover all the minor xeno empires, races and the like. They should be BB with Tau and all that good stuff.

On a more serious note something like mercenaries as suggested, or a Rogue Trader list would be welcome and give plenty of opportunity to model

How about the Haemonculi sub-faction of DE? They have the flesh golem thing pretty well covered.

No new codexes, please. "Sub-faction" though sounds like something that deserves to get thrown into a WD issue and nothing more.

They still fit the 'necromancer' theme, considering they're the minds of a dead race in other constructs, and come back to life.

It would actually work extremely well as a supplement like Crusade of Fire or Death from the Skies. Several subfactions that can be taken as allies (for example, Lost and the Damned for Chaos, Genestealer Cults for Tyranids, Kroot and even Ork mercenaries for various factions, etc). Some of these have standard units in some armies (Genestealers, Chaos Cultists, Ork Kommandos, Kroot Carnivores) and just need expanding out to a single option from each FoC slot. Throw 5-6 lists in an allies supplement.

This would be pretty awesome. Along with it, I want a supplement called Chapter Tactics, which is nothing but Chapter Tactics characters, so we can get some more representation for the hundreds of Marine chapters who don't have any kind of special rules.

Those would both be pretty sweet.

i like the idea of having an "official" rogue trader codex. it would have lots of options for a RT retinue

Not only that, has everyone forgot about Typhus? He literally brings zombies to the tabletop. Hordes and hordes of zombies.

Yeah...40k lizard men...

Or how about a floatilla of Ancient Slaan...

That could give us the Lizardmen in 40k...

They could use Skinks kinda like the "techno" guys and Saurus as the , obviously...warriors. Kroxigors as a "Shock" trooper..

Maybe even some Eldar "ancients" providing Psychic backup....

I'm personally quite glad not all the fantasy races made it into 40k. Somehow, the orks work, and the eldar (Elves) were thankfully taken a route to make them believable. I'm glad the dwarf/squat's diddn't make it as I don't feel they fit, and the lizardmen were n my mind, much better suited for fantasy, wheras 40k took tyranids which fit's the theme much better in my opinion. I like the idea of a robot race, but I don't personally like the necron similarities to tomb kings, because the egyptian theme is a human trait, and it just seems silly to me the necrons "coincedentally" happened to take every egyptian mummy-style steriotype and have it in the army (Pharons, scarabs, egyptian themed iconography and headcrasts and such)

As for vampire counts, meh, can't see space vampires being made, and quite glad of it (Though blood angels come dangerously close anyway xD)

However! I would like to see another alien race, or as suggested, a confederation of races, who amass together to pose a threat to the other races. Alone, they would be just a minor inconvenience to the imperium and other races, but combined, it would be interesting to see.

This. So much this.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.
