Hi guys

I need help with coming with a simple yet effective tau scheme. I can paint to a high level but I'm not very patient and have a lot of models to paint. I'm looking for a scheme that has the has the following (probably dark)

Prime
1 base coat
1 wash
1 drybrush (weathering) I like heavy weathering and have managed to get a old synthetic brush to the perfect stage to do this
1 set of highlights
Red eye and weapon lights
Done

I have tried to paint a jungle scheme but I was taking 4-5 hours per model and I only get 4-5 a week to paint if I'm lucky. I have tried tau sept but painting the multiple layers of tau ochre and ensuring the rivets are still dark is very time consuming.

I'm not opposed to any colours other than blues and I

I would suggest combining your prime and base coat with either an Army Painter or Krylon Ultra Flat Camouflage paint. I have used both and they work great.

Ive started re-painting my force in Farsight colors... pretty easy.

Base with "Ruddy Brown" Krylon primer.
45 degree, top down spray with Matte red krylon.
Wash with Ogryn flesh.
Metal with boltgun washed with nuln oil
pick out details (head and such) with base white, black wash, light grey *leaving black lines*
Bright blue for lenses.

Looks decent. That's the sort of thing I am after I really don't have the time or attention span to be paint all the amour panels three times

This method is pretty quick.... this was my test mini.
I did three Sunforges last night in about 2 1/2 hours.

A lot of people really like the AP dip. The price of it has scared me away.

Small bottles can be purchased of the AP quickshade, but of course that defeats the purpose of dipping... I agree, the price is too much for me when I am really on the fence about whether or not I will like it... but it is fast...

On a separate note, I really tip my hat to Tau army painters... Painting models that are supposed to appear really clean has got to be a big challenge...
