I am wondering if anyone knows when the forgeworld tau will be getting updated?

The revised edition of IA3 will contain updated rules for all FW Tau units, and at open day they said that the book is finished and being printed with a release expected in 1-2 months from now.

Are the revising other books? Because I'd love a revised Anphelion Project.

Hmmm revised IA:3 well since i cant seem to find one on ebay for less than 120 dollars this may turn out to be my first forgeworld order. At least with a book I wont get a miscast.

Does IA4 really have anything left? The Elysian list is already covered in IA8, and hasn't most of the Tyranid stuff already been moved into the codex?

Heirophant, Barbed Heirodule, Scythed Heirodule, Malantrope, Meiotic Spores and Stonecrusher Carnifexes are all still IA only (to be fair Stonecrushers weren't in IA 4, they were originally just Carnifexes with the CoD wrecker strategem, but they have a profile now in IAA Second Edition).

But haven't those been updated in other books already? Updating IA3 makes sense because all of the Tau rules are now obsolete and it's either update IA3 or release them all as free pdfs, but with the Tyranids it doesn't make much sense to commit to a revised IA4 until after their next codex.

Yep and two of them are in the regular Apocalypse book.

Heirophant - 40K Apoc
Barbed Heirodule - 40K Apoc
Scythed Heirodule - IA Apoc1
Malantrope - IA Apoc1
Meiotic Spores - IA Apoc1
Stonecrusher Carnifexes - IA Apoc 2nd Ed

The only IA4 units that haven't been printed elsewhere since are:
Brood Nest
Spore Chimney
Capilary Towers

That said, I'd like to see another book like IA4 (rather than a re-print of IA4). It's by far my favorite read or the IA series.

And note that these are the OOP terrain models, so the chances of them getting updated rules (especially an entire book motivated by updating them) are not very good.

Well, given the current Fortifications thing, bringing those models and rule back wouldn't be the biggest surprise.

It certainly doesn't warrant updating IA4 though.
