In the warp, searching for Marbo

Not totally sure if this is the right thread for this question: I plan on getting a valkerie early next month, and (a week or 2 later) a vendetta conversion kit from forgeworld. Should I wait until I get the conversion kit to assemble the vendetta, or can I simply assemble the valkerie, and add on afterwords? *then paint*

After all these years of searching for Marbo...he found me. Heretics beware! He's back!

I'm pretty sure you can assemble the main body. I think the conversion kit is only lascannons isn't it?

Yes, the only thing that I may hold off on is assembling the nose (cockpit) because I believe there is another lascannon that comes with the kit.

The conversion kit is pretty much the last thing to fitmanyway, so you may as well assemblemtue rest of it before you get the lascannons. You can assemble the vast majority of the cockpit because the lasscannon just go in the side pods and can be added later.

With the valkyrie kit, be aware that parts of the engines end up getting partly concealed by the time its fully assembled, so you might want to leave the engines off and paint them separately.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

The Vendetta conversion kit has three components:

The wing-mounted lascannons are just glued onto the wing hardpoint instead of the missiles or rocket pods, so building the entire model won't be a problem as long as you leave the hardpoints empty.

The hull-mounted lascannons go in the side bit that holds the lascannon or multilaser. Like the wing guns, as long as you leave the mounting bit empty until you get the conversion kit you'll have no problem adding it later.

The nose sensor bit replaces some of the plastic parts, so you'll have to leave the standard antenna bits off and painting smooth transitions might be hard (especially if you have to do any gap filling). On the other hand, it's purely decorative, so you don't really need to worry about it if you don't want to wait.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
