Hello everyone I know I'm new to the forums and everything. I just have a favor to ask of the community. I've been taking up time with a 12 yr old boy whose family lives on food stamps. I've started a campaign on indiegogo.com. This campaign is to help him get into 40k. He has seen me painting on my models and wishes to get into the game as well. Any help would be appreciated thank you. I can't put the link up here, but you can go to www.indiegogo.com and just search for "War gaming Kid Needs Help".

I assume food stamps are a form of welfare in the US? I may seem totally heartless for saying this, but a child who's family cannot afford food has no place starting a hobby as ridiculously expensive as 40k, donations or not.

Well, someone could donate him some second-hand miniature. Don't know, like: see that old and awfully painted tactical squad? I don't use it, take it.

But, again, it depends.

I was thinking the ssame, I sheild my hobby from my nieces and nephews because their family cannot start it for them. TBH the best would have to not have gotten him interested in the slightest.

Agreed. If he is that poor, the money could be better placed in essentials.

Grown Adults who play 40k are flakey and this is for a 12yr old who will probably forget about this when he finds some pokemon cards or a box of Pogs, i agree with you Buca. Personally I would rather see something like this for a grown man like a injured veteran.
