Ok so in another post I was advised that a great kit for a SM Captain is a bike with a lighting claw and powerfist. At first I didn't think I'd be able to do this as I didn't have an extra bike...the captain was a spare figure that I was going to put to use for an 'allies' army. A day after making the post, my brother called me and he picked up a box of bits from a guy at work and what was included....a loose bike! So, I have a left hand claw and fist, so I need to fine one or the other right handed. I'd also like to have him have one hand on the handlebars....probably fist I'm thinking would be easiest for that. My initial thought is that I could take a normal right handed powerfist, cut it off at the powerfist portion, turn it so it looks like its holding the handle and glue it onto the upper portion of a normal bike hand? I would probably just cut the actual handle off of the bar for appearance.

Does anybody have any other ideas or bits they've seen that could be used here? Or better yet, has anyone done this themselves and have pictures?

Personally, I'd imagine that a power-fist would be incredible un-suited to manipulate the handlebars of a bike, I'd think it would simply get in the way.

Just an idea, but what about having the left lightning claw raised to strike, and the right hand on the bars, but attach a mastercrafted weapon in a holster or mag-clamped to the bike - possibly a storm bolter or a a combi weapon. Or you could have him wielding a giant thunder hammer, playing 'power croquet' with heads

I modeled my captain standing with one leg off the bike on the ground so as to better fit the stormshield in left hand and a magnetized relic blade in the right. Despite being a stationary pose, it allows more room for arm posing. In this position its not necessary to worry about holding onto the handlebars! This can be repeated for other models with bitz like bolters, CCW, binoculars etc.

I highly recommend magnets as you may wish to swap out the powerfist and lightning claw at a later date.

One of the FW weapon kits has the blades for a lightning claw seperate to the hand, if you can get ahold of that piece you should be able to fit it over a standard biker hand on the handle and have the power fist raised and ready to strike. It might be an easier solution than having a powerfist gripping the bikes handlebars

That kit specifically, you might need to slice off the fourth blade to fit it to power armour since it was made for terminators

I went through a phase years ago of just making space marine captains from spare parts I had (think it was for an apocalypse game), one of them was on a bike with thunder hammer and stormshield:

Not the most imaginative conversions ever, but it got the job done. The shield is an old chaos warrior one smoothed down and the thunder hammer is green stuff over a metal rod through a bolt pistol arm. Not very dynamic I'm afraid though, but I hope it gives you an idea

I did a similar conversion a very very long time ago that sounds a little like what you're after. Parts are reasonably obvious, with the addition of a few plasticard extras like the wings over the back end and a new exhaust built from a a Tau fusion blaster and some tubing.

Why bother holding the handlebars, it's the 41st Millenium, you can drive with your mind (neural links) or knees by now surely?
I've been running a Captain w/Bike, Artificer Armour, PF + LC for a couple of months now and he's a beast against so many things (just avoid Str10 stuff).

These are all great inspirations....I think I have some ideas in mind to move forward with this! Thanks all of you!!

Could you try and make the lightning claws look retractable? Then you just need the one fist.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

If you do this, please model it as though the captain is doing a backflip. With or without the bike.

You could model him ditching the bike, springing off the seat through the air as it skids to a stop. Fist and claw outstretched to ruin someone's day...

i think it's important to note here what chapter you are working with/from. I've created DA bikes for sargeants that were so gosh-darn sexy that opponents kept confusing them for HQ choices. knowing what army you are working with will help with what bits would be good to throw onto it.

It's going to be for a small Silver Skulls allies force. I think what I'm going to do is similar to a couple of the above posters (love all the conversions btw) with one leg on the ground. Left arm will be a lightning claw in the air, right arm a pointing powerfist so to look as if he's pointing out targets and whatnot. I haven't tried many conversions past cutting off hands to replace weapons thus far, so I'm a little nervous about the leg chopping, but it's time to get my hands dirty I reckon.

Or you could just have a bit of fluff built into your list where your Bike Captain has a relic called "Fist of Blades" of "The Bladed Fist" which counts as a Power Fist with built in Lightning Claws.
Then just use the LC arm and a regular biker arm on the handlebar.

Another option may be to have the LC arm on the guy, the other arm holding the handlebar, then in place of one of the bike-bolters mount a TH pole sticking strait out in front of the bike with a single TH head mounted to the end of that...kind of like a big pugle-stick and your hitting the guy with the bike by swinging the handlebars around.

BTW...how do the rules work for the interaction between those 2 weapons? Does it count as a S8 weapon with rerolls for the LC (essentially a S8 LC)....because another option would be to call it a unique weapon (fluff wise) and take a PF and glue a single Power Sword blade extending from the fist....like a giant middle finger.

You choose which profile you want to use each time you attack (so 2xSTR AP2 w/PF or STR/user AP3 Shred W/LC) and get the advantages of the one you decide to use. You get an extra attack because they're both specialist weapons (yay!) not sure if you can split attacks between the 2 weapons (like logan grimnar).

Soem fellow took me up on my offer earlier in thread via PM's and i obliged him. He made me recall that I had built two DA bikes with heavy modifications and that I had snapped the photos some time ago. You can all either blame or thank him for making me remember and share the result of those images:
I am aware of how bad the photos are. You won't get better ones. I no longer have these bikes.

EDIT: fixed image coding
EDIT: paraphrasing at the implicit request of the fellow who PM'd me.
