Just a funny thing a friend and I thought of to use for fun.

Reclusiarch

X3 Furioso (Frag Cannon, Heavy Flamer)

X25 DC (Bolters)

X5 DC Dreads (Blood Fists)

X2 Regular Dreads(Assault Cannon)

Regular Dread(TL HB)

Again, this list is just for fun, but I would love to hear others thoughts about it.

Thanks,

Lucarikx

I love it...I was talking to a buddy about this a few days ago too...Would be a fun list to play with and your opponent would probably crap himself seeing 11 dreads on the table...I might play test it for fun one night.

If you own the models, this would table a substantial number of lists. Of course, IG air cav might make you look foolish, but who cares?

thanks guys.

Would it be better to change out the Reclusiarch for a Libby and pray for the 4++ power?

Heh, I was toying with a 9 Dreadnought list using SM primary and BA allies. MotF + 6 Dreads, and taking a Furioso Librarian, DC Dread, and normal Dread from BA.

Was using Tac squads in Rhinos for the SM and of course a small DC unit with Jump Packs.

Anyways, felt the range weapons were more important.

Just as long as your realize that your army doesn't score except in Big Guns or Scouring missions.

Personally, I'd swap out 1 DC dread and DC's for a scoring unit, preferably 10-strong who can combat squad.

If he swap DC then he has 5 empty troops slots.

I would consider ditching some Dreadnoughts to get a cheap Scout unit so you can score and then some Drop Pods so you can actually get your Dreadnoughts up into the fight. Having walking close combat walkers isn't cool and an immobilised result will soon stop them or stunned will slow them down.

Keep it as is IMO. It's for FUN, as he states, not to be competitive.

There's a difference between competitive and making sense and having assault walkers walking across the table doesn't make sense. Is having your assault walker getting immobilised fun? Taking three turns getting into combat, is that fun? I don't think so. Having multiple Dreadnoughts with some in Drop Pods is fun

I meant more like swapping out 5 DC models, not the entire unit.

As a necron player I would laugh at that list. With 5 x 7 warrior squads and an overlord and 5 or so crypteks with haywire staves these dreadnoughts would go down before they'd got half way across the board.

As opposed to what other BA lists? Necrons get to laugh at BA in general for the time being.

Don't most competitive 'cron players do bagel airlines now? If one fail those reserve rolls, these dreads will have a field day against what's left.

I could drop 1 DC dread and the a few DC to get 3 Lucius DPs.

BA can't have Lucius DPs. Welcome to the BA.

HERESY

Wow, the main assault SM army doesn't get assault DPs.

Well then.... Maybe drop 2 DC dreads + Some DC and go Double Force Org then get more Furiosos and a Libby?

The BA aren't the main assault anything right now. Well, wanna be assault. I've probably won 80% of the games I have won by shooting. The casualties that fragnoughts can cause are epic, and fast preds can adjust their position 6" every turn and still fire. That's pretty good, not great, but pretty good.

From the rumours over on BoLs, it sounds like the striking scorpions are gonna take our lunch money hard core. With the way 6th edition codices are trending, they are going to have to give the entire list rage or something to be competitive.

Thanks for the advice

Would it be better if I took 1 DC dread out and have all the Fragnoughts pods?

Yes; podding fragnoughts = ownage. You can even choose which ones come in turn 1. You can keep one back to pay a visit to a squad that starts in a transport.

There's all kinds of tricky stuff you can do with fragnoughts. Your wound pool will consist of AP 4 wounds, AP - wounds and AP 2 wounds from rending and the magna grapple. You can order these wounds as you wish, so you can save the AP 2 wounds for when the wound pool gets to a wolf guard or some other character in 2+ armor. Note that the magna grapple instagibs meq ICs.

Also, podded fragnoughts don't care about the lack of Lucius pods. It's very lame, and unfluffy, but there it is.

I ran a similar list I had the models for, not quite as many dreads but was still cool. Was something like this...

Librarian

2 furiso with heavy flamer and frag cannon in pods

2 death company dreads with melt a and magnagrapple in pods

10 death company in a pod

3 riflemen dreads

Then as allies

Master of the forge conversion beaker

2 ironclad with meltagun and 2 hunter killers each in pods

5 sniper scouts with camp cloaks...

Idea was to drop in the ironclad and death dreads to pop 4 vehicles rear armour then when the furisos came in from reserve the would just. burn up whole squads! Even full tac squads or big mobz of boyz

Was pretty epic
