Subject: SkaredCast "Carnivale of Pain" series - Fully Painted Dark Eldar(coven) vs AlphaLegion (maulers)
Welcome to another Skaredcast battle report, this time you see Matt and his gorgeous alpha legion chaos space marines take on the dark eldar coven. You can see all the other reports that I have done here:
The mission, The scouring with vanguard deployment.
And the army lists up for discussion:
The Alpha Legion:
The Chaos Lord in terminator armour
3 Terminators with combi-plasmas
10 Chaos Space Marines, 2 flamers, Veteran with Powersword
Rhino with a dirgecaster
10 Chaos Space Marines, 2 flamers, Veteran with Powersword
Rhino with a dirgecaster
Maulterfiend w/ magmacutters
Maulerfiend w/ magmacutters
Helldrake w/Baleflamer
2 Obliterators, mark of nurgle, veterans of the long war.
I was clearly outplayed. And unable to recover. And it went very well for the winning army its all a matter of perspective. Hehe. Thanks for watching ! Glad you liked it.
Not usually a fan of video reports but this was good. You didn't swoop around too much so I knew what was going across the board the whole time, and you rolled at least two dice on camera, which I like because it feels like I'm watching my friends play.
Cheers!

Thanks a lot for the comments. I do try and make them short and sweet but also engaging. Of course the "tactical corner" is for the more engaged types but it adds more depth to the batrep.
Wow! You made me watch a video battle report! This was a pleasure to watch. Short precise turns, graphics which explained, steady camera (YEAH!!!!!!), high resolution, no background interference, nice board, even nicer models, cool idea by including your conclusion of the match and a nice clear voice explaining the turns making the different situations coherent.
What happened to all the normal Chaos Space Marines? What did they do?
@Duke_Mantis (and others):
Would you care to post in a Chaos Space Marine thread? I'm so tired of Chaos Space Marines being 13 points and the loyalists 14 and because Chosen no more having Infiltrate, making Chaos Space Marines the only army without a unit with Infiltrate and I could go on... So tired that I'm close to leave the hobby. I need to know that I'm actually wrong hehe

To me the Chaos Space Marines needed to be characterised as a threat reaching back to the Imperium's past, a threat which had refused to lie down and become part of history. This is in part why the gods of Chaos are less pivotal in Codex Chaos; we felt that the motivations of Chaos Space Marines should remain their own, no matter how debased and vile. Though the corrupted Space Marines of the Traitor Legions make excellent champions for the gods of Chaos, they are not pawns and have their own agendas of vengeance, empire-building vindication or arcane study which gives them purpose.

@Chaospling: HA! sucked you in did I? To answer your question, the one squad was wiped out with a wrecked transport and being unable to disembark. The second squad stayed in their rhino, did nothing and then jumped out to capture objectives at the end.
Thanks for watching and I am glad you liked it. I do try and make them as fun as possible.
You should include pictures of each army together before deployment. These are beautifully painted armies and I'd like a still-frame of each under the youtube link!
