Ok. I'm getting back to 40k now and I play chaos sm.
I am having trouble remembering all the special moves and boon rolls ans mutation rolls for spawn etc etc...
I was wondering if anyone knows of a flow chart or has a nice reminder checklist to help with this.
If no one does, I will create one VIA this thread with help of the discussion.

The reason for this post is because the new codex seems so sparse and there are special rules located on several pages in the codex without page numbers in the stats or even on the main page for the unit entry.

Pleas help dakka!

Thanks

Mark up the codex with the relevant pages.
The last 3 codex releases all seemed to need it.
Why change now?

Those are good for remembering what boon, but I'm trying to remember to roll boon in the first place. Among other things like It Will Not Die and Mutated beyond reason etc etc...

Seems there are SO MANY special rolls for a chaos player these days and I'm not rolling all of them each turn because I cant remember all of it.

So, alas, I was hoping to find some type of blow by blow reminder.

mmm The last codexes all have a summary of all the rules on the last 3 pages. The chaos codex unfolds the reference sheet and there are all the tables you need, warlord traits, boon rolls, spawn tables, possessed tables, etc

that's a really handy idea. I may cook up something similar for myself as I always forget certain things (gets hot rolls, etc).

a few things that come to mind after reading this:

1. declare all charges before rolling your distance, then resolve overwatch. then you can roll your charge distance.

2. remember your hammer of wrath attacks at the start of combat

3. remember your hatred rerolls for VotLW

4. remember to roll for look out sir before making saves

Great stuff! Thanks for contributing.

This actually came about because I was rolling smash wrong and it resulted in a dead daemon prince by the hand of Mephiston, which really threw the whole game for me.
While writing it I discovered a few items that I have been forgetting.

One I've forgotten a couple of times was to roll psyker powers at beginning of game. I noticed Typhus on the list so I assume you run psykers.

I think since Typhus' powers are in the codex then there is no need for this, right?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
There's some confusion here because typically, typhus does not have LOS on a target to do any psychic attacks. I normally just roll a psychic test and then roll for the power off the Nurgle table. I have no idea if this is correct or not.

All cleaned up. More to follow.
