With the steady stream of codex releases and the current trend of big "centre piece" models, where we had the Dread knight, recently the Riptide and now the Wraith Knight which looms over its predecessors, would there be any room for other codex’s to release their “big guns” and release a comparatively sized tall/big GW model of these behemoths?
For instance what options would vanilla marines have to have a huge model that isn’t Forge world/titan? What about the other armies? Is there any room to outdo the Wraith Knight in size? Where would be the limit?

As always keep it mean, but keep it clean~

I'd place money on space marines getting a super-dreadnought.

What makes me really sad though is, the army that fit's the idea of big monsters best of all (Besides tyranids) Diddn't get one in an update. It makes me sad to think that tau, and eldar, get bigger monstrous creatures than daemons. Seems silly that a bloodthirster comes up to the waist of the eldar monster,
like a big angry red dwarf fighting it.

I think that they will keep it Dreadknight/Riptide size from now on, the Wraithknight is borderline Titan and borderline GW just went too far with the price. $125 Australian dollars that. Tyranids'll defs get a big spiky kit. SM? maybe a super dreadnought, techmarine MC hunter. Orks? I'd like to see a Dino-ish thing (Squiggoth like) with a howdah, but - like the others, it'd be a walker, and expect it to be at the nice old acheivable price of $90+. Coz I'm a student these prices get me very happy (sarcastic).

Space Marines will almost certainly get a Knight, probably a Paladin. It makes no sense, but they were counted as Space Marine forces in Final Liberation, so there's a precedent to carry over.

Part of me almost thinks that they won't make a new monstrous creature for nids. Sounds odd but look at chaos daemons. They have the chance and the first reaction is hey they have only 1 vehicle, let us throw a bunch of chariots in! Meh. I wouldn't be surprised.

If this scale creep continues, maybe by the time IG gets an update, we can finally get the plastic Warhound that everyone expected as part of the Stompa/Baneblade series of Apocalypse models.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!! If IG gets a titan in a standard game or even a baneblade in a standeard game this would be just stupid. the model size needs to stop increasing it was good the way it was.

I'm just hoping, hoping that when (if) tyranids get updated their MC are once again back on top of the pile, or at least more cost-efficient that most of them currently are. 180 pts for a 2+/5++ monster that can drop ignores-cover demi-demolisher cannons shots, then jump away? Or how a titan-sized eldar gundam that will likely be 2+/5++ t9, outclassing quite a few tyranid gargantuans...

Serisously, I hope that bloody thing is a walker.

I kind of like the big impressive models myself, but I kind of wish they had a 0-1 or 0-2 limit on them, and maybe an extra victory point for killing them. They should be big centerpieces that battles are fought around, not just another unit.

I don't like the riptide or the dreadknight models themselves but I am still fine with them in the game but the wraithknight is too much. The thing is huge. Sure it's fine as an apoc unit but in standard games... yeah maybe not. Makes me afraid of what will they come up with next...

A monolith dwarfs a lot of apoc stuff and is comparative to a stomper (I own both aswell as alot of other super heavies) but no one complains about it because it's been around for ages....
This new stuff is not that big, the dreadknight and riptide are nothing compared to a Valkyrie in terms of size.

Well it does have its advantage, being able to hide behind terrain & units. I think GW might still be thinking of how to model a Flying MC without it being flipping huge or look like total gak.

I always wanted an Eldar Titan in 40K - this will do.

But I realy hope they don't do the same with Marines - the flyers and Deadknight / baby carrier were bad enough in appearance.

The big models are all on flyer bases except the Stompa.

Space marines = Stormraven, Storm Talon

Grey Knights = Dreadknight

Tyranids = Where do I begin....

Eldar = Wraithknight, Spruce Goose

Dark Eldar = Voidbomber

Tau = Riptide

Orks = Stompa, Dakkajet

Chaos marines = Forge/Mauler Fiend, Hellturkey

Chaos Daemons = Well I guess they have the FW greater Daemons and CSM Allies

Guard = Valk/Ven

Necrons = Flyer, Tombstalker, Monolith

I think that covers all the big stuff. So sisters need a Pentientknight.

The temptation to make rules for the baneblade and stompa for 40k will be very hard for GW to resist. I still expect an Imperial Knight for the guard.

Every space marine chapter in the galaxy suddenly supplied with a mini-titan is going to be a tough sell to people that the background is important to. On the other hand though, it probably is not as stupid as marines riding giant wolves.

Can you jump the shark twice or is it all over the first time you do it?

I am hoping SM get a true main battle tank. Something with the high strength weaponry to take down these baby titans.

I want to know how humanoids riding in giant walking vehicles aren't walkers or vehicles . . . but creatures. Maybe Tyranids are gonna get a giant creature that is somehow a vehicle. -_-

The IoM already has gigant walkers that aren't Titans, the Knights

http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Knight#.UaMXaLUp8t4

GW has plenty of options to release a BIG model for the IoM factions.

Dark Eldar are raiders, so I guess their big MF would be a creature they captured, they probably aren't interested in building anything gigantic.

I still hope SW get something like a Fenrisian Mammoth

1.) No, there is no room for that.
2.) They do it anyway because GW's survival depends on the few customers left buying one large expensive box essential for winning.
